How would you rate the timeliness of the bus service to the parks, as compared with other resorts?

This is the only complaint I've heard "some" people mention about WL, but didn't know if it was valid.

We have never stayed there, but have taken the boat to/from the Magic Kingdom many times with no problems.

Also, I have never had a problem with the bus service at any of the resorts we stayed at previously, Coranado, Dixie Landings, All Star Sports & Movies.

Thanks :-)

Well, I have never stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, only at Fort Wilderness. But, the busses from Fort Wilderness go to the WL first. At the Wilderness Lodge, there is a bus that goes directly from there to TTC (The Crockett Bus). Total ride of maybe 4 or 5 minutes. To go to EPCOT you have to go to TTC.

Also there is a direct bus from Wl to MGM Studios and Animal Kindgom. I think during the day these stop at Typhon Lagoon and the new water park (Sorry, the name totally escapes me right now, ah, remember when looking over the post, Blizzard Beach) respectively.

There is also a boat from WL directly to MK, they have started using the bigger boats, and is a nice way to avoid TTC.

I believe there is also a bus from there that goes to Downtown Disney, the Marketplace, WestSide, etc. (That might be the one that runs to Typhon Lagoon)

I don't want to say for certain for all these, but this what I remember off the top of my head...

My family and I stayed at WL for the first time this past June. We had visited it many times, and had always wanted to stay there, but never could (too expensive) But last year we joined the Disney Vacation Club, and, of course, just recently they built the WL Villas. Very nice part of the resort, btw. Go check it out when you go! It's fun to explore the place...it's very secluded!
I really don't remeber having to go to TTC to get to Epcot. I don't think you have to. I think that's only if you want to get to the MK by bus. there is also a Daniel Boone bus and a Davy Crockett bus (i think...) i believe those are for Downtown Disney and the water parks. for some reason those buses stop running at 4pm. but as for the timing, they're pretty much like all the other resorts. the only trouble we had was the morning we went to Epcot. and the only reason we had trouble was because i had left my ticket in the room. my sister and my dad went on into the park, and me and mom waited around forever for a bus to take us back to WL. for some odd reason the buses don't go back to the resorts in the morning...i have no clue where they go! after about 20 or 30 minutes of waiting, an empty bus came (one of those brand new buses that have some of the seats elevated.) that was kinda cool actually! having a big bus come just to pick up me and mom!
the boats are fine too, as you remembered them. they usually have several going at once, of course, so it usually doesn't take that long. and heck, sometimes you have to wait just as long, if not longer for a bus!!
You'll LOVE staying at WL though!! there's so many places to explore in the lobbys...sitting areas, balconies. and definately go on the nature trail if you haven't already done that! it's so peaceful! and, if you haven't already eaten at Whispering Canyon Cafe, that's definately a must! You'll have to tell us all about it when you get back!! oh, and before you leave your room, make sure everyone has their tickets into the parks!! ;-)

The Boone and Crockett Buses serve Fort Wilderness and all the interior loops. There are two because they run opposite directions in the campground before going to the Wilderness lodge and TTC. They do not go to any other places. The Crockett and Boone will run till 2 in the morning, or a little later I found out one time:D:D

Anyways, I envy you, I really like the interior of that resort, if I ever spend a visit at WDW not in the campground I would love to stay there....:D:D

Please bear in mind that this info is from Nov 2000. We stayed at WL and had no probs with transportation. The bus loop was with the Poly and GF. There were routes to AK (stopping at BB), Downtown Disney, Epcot, and MGM. The only headache was waiting for the bus at BB but this isn't unusual. All in all, it was no problem at all.
