Who else wants Song of the South on DVD

I remember my parents taking me to see this film when it was re-released in the early 80's. I thought it was great from what i remembered. I know it had some issues with some groups because of its content, but theres worse things out there now. Seriously though they made a ride based on some of the characters from it, whats the harm in releasing it on DVD already. It's not like almost everybody doesn't know the story anyway. Just was wondering whats everyones opinion on this topic.

I would love to see it released on DVD but they would probably edit alot out which would stink. I think that if there is anything "offensive" in it should not be edited out but maybe with a feature talking about the times then and now and what has happened in changed through the years to show what a different mindset there was in the country. Then everyone is happy.:shrug:

Disney will not release it. You say their are worse things, not at Disney.

If you watched the movie again you will see the problems it may cause.
You could delete some fo those scenes to release the movie again but then you would lose alot. Everytime I watch it I always get the same point out of the movie. Anyone can become friends, no matter your background, money, or race.
It's one of my favorites.

the quality is good for not being an "official dvd release" but its good and is worth buying. It really is a shame that it hasn't been released because it really is a perfect movie for kids.
