Which room at Pop Century?

I have booked a preferred room at Pop with free dining in August for our family of 4 with a 4 year old and 20 month old. We had a reservation at AoA (Little Mermaid Room) but switched due to the cost savings with the free dining promotion. The food court looks a bit better at AoA (my girls really love smoothies and it doesn't look like the Pop food court has them...) so I had thought about trying to request our room close to the bridge between the resorts (at the back of Pop) and then regularly grabbing breakfast at LoF and taking the bus from AoA.

How far is the walk from the back of Pop to LoF? Is it any farther than the distance from the Little Mermaid Rooms to LoF? It doesn't look too bad on the map but sometimes that can be deceiving.

Am I better to book at the back of Pop and always be walking, or book close to the buses at Pop to avoid walking so far with my girls? Any suggestions on which area to request for a preferred room would be appreciated. Thanks!

We stayed in Pop in December 2014 and even though we never walked over the bridge to AoA, we did walk all around the resort one day checking out the statues, pools, etc. Honestly, the resort itself is not that big which is awesome because no matter where you are, the walk to the lobby isn't bad at all. I would request a room in the 60's buildings, and maybe on the ground floor. That would cut out time waiting/riding in the elevator. It's the closest to both the lobby and the bridge. And since you paid for a preferred room, you would most likely be in those buildings anyway. When you check in, ask to see a map and ask if they have a room in a specific section of the building you want.
Pop is amazing, you will love it there! My daughter was obsessed with the Hippy Dippy Pool and the little kiddie pool/splash area behind it :)

Last year., we stayed in 70's, though 60's was our request. The walk to and from the lobby was seriously like two minutes and it was wonderful. That being said, 70's is right next to 60's, which is closest to the bridge to AoA so it was very similar. We made that walk to AoA quite often, as we loved to explore and did find ourselves catching an AoA bus some nights and then taking an evening stroll back to our resort.

Yes, I think the walk is longer than LM rooms to the AoA lobby, but it depends just how much you think you'll be going over there. Are you to get your family's smoothie fix every day, or only once in a while...do you prefer the short walk to the Pop lobby/bus stops more...etc. It's a tradeoff, but not necessarily a gigantic one, as one of the benefits of value resorts are that they are pretty compact.

We stayed last summer in the 60's Building, overlooking the kiddie pool. It was a perfect location. The walk over to AOA is a bit further than walking to the front of POP, but not bad, as the bridge makes for a pretty view, especially at night. Food courts are good at both resorts. And, with the 60's location, at the end of the day at the parks, we just chose whichever bus happened to be available or had the shorter line.

This past January, we stayed in a preferred room in the 60's nearest the main building. We did however walk across the bridge and toured all of AOA resort and ate dinner there. I enjoyed the fact that they serve your meals on real plates and metal dinnerware, no paper and plastic. If you request a room at the back of the 60's nearest the bridge, I don't think it would make a big difference in which resort you dined in or used the transportation from. BTW, we used the AOA bus one night to return from the park because the bus stop crowd was much smaller than Pop that particular time. No big deal walking back to Pop

I would stay at the resort you intend to dine at. I wouldn't want to start out the day with a long walk to another resort. More walking added on top of the walking you are already doing in the parks doesn't seem great. I think you should either keep your AoA reservation, or stay at Pop and dine at Pop. I wouldn't want to haul my little ones to another resort for quick service breakfast every day.

I stayed in the 90's building. This really doesn't have much to do with a particular room, but one night I was swimming around in the square laptop pool and had a pretty cool view of a fireworks show that I can only guess came from HS. So that was pretty cool.

The distance to the main building isn't terrible from any of the buildings. If you would like to avoid the pool noise, take a standard room as you'll be on the backside of the building more than likely..

60s bldg 4 or 5 are the closest, 70s bldg , or 50s bldg 3 are the next closest. Crude pic below will show you the 60s bldg is almost as close to LoF as LM is...

Hope this helps...

We also cancelled LM room, due to savings.

I have never done a dining plan, free or otherwise. Wish we would get it as free offer, just to try it.

We love Pop. LM is never included in any discounts, so this is the second time I have booked it and then forfeited.

We have a "Magic Room" offer, which is the current discount for Spring Break 2017.

We have a Pop/value resort room discount of 15%.

The day I booked, I later got a pixie dust offer in the mail.

After much back & forth, I had a CM return my call and she is trying to find me a deeper discount at Pop.

Sorry, getting off topic! We planned to walk across the bridge to AoA for the past couple of years, but never find the time.

This year we arrive late, so it may not happen again. Once we hit the parks, our day is full.

We have stayed in 90's standard. I usually request near transportation and we walk across the parking lot to the buses.

Also have done preferred room. I believe it was 50's. Did not care for it as much. Although close to food court, etc. it faced an interior green space, and felt isolated.

You can do fine with standard at Pop.

I want to try AoA food court. Pop's is pretty simple and straight forward.

I think that is what I like most about Pop. Easier to manage and more efficient all around.

I read that even resort luggage check in can take long at AoA.

And of course the infamous long walk to LM.
