the second resort will be yacht club for three nights then we move over to animal kingdom lodge for another three nights - this ist all settled - but we are not sure which resort we want to start with. either it's wildderness lodge or the grand floridian. any suggestions? :veryconfu

My choice would be the Wilderness Lodge (for the entire time, but thats just me :D ). Its a very beautiful resort, designed by the same person who designed the AK Lodge so you will get a similar feel.

It is a very laid back, relaxing resort and we have never had a bad experience there. Everyone is very friendly, the food is yummy and the themeing is perfect for us. I love to sit in front of the big fireplace with a cup of tea and rock in one of the oversized chairs.
You can get a boat to the MK or one to the Contemporary & then hit the monorail. The boat ride to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds is very relaxing and there is so much to do there.

You don't say if you have any kids, but mine love the place. They wander down to the arcade, snackbar or Mercantile and then hang out in the lobby to have some kid time (and they are very safe & we get some peace too).

I haven't stayed at the GF as it doesn't really fit our personalities, but I think you would do just as well there. Let us know what you decide. Either way its going to be a great trip!

Hmmm. Interesting question because both of those choices are similar to the places you've already decided to stay. I think Wilderness Lodge is more fun, but it's like the Animal Kingdom Lodge in several aspects. Both the Grand Floridian is on the lagoon and the monorail, which is a good experience in itself.

have you ever stayed at the GF? and is the WL not kind of similar to the AKL?

The WL & AKL are similar in design, but totally different in atmosphere. In the WL you have the feel of the Great Northwest, while in the AKL its more of an African feel.

The Wilderness Lodge will be almost like AKL. They are both warm resorts. I would stay at the Grand Floridian because it is totally different from both the Yatch club and AKL. I have stayed at AKL, the Swan, and the Grand Floridian, and GF is my favorite resort. Being on the monorail is the biggest plus, and the victorian style is the closest architectual style to Cinderella's Castle. So, I feel that it is the most magical out of all the resorts.

Good luck in chosing!

I would go with the Floridian. If the money isn't as issue, then I would go with that. All though WL was beautiful, I think it was lacking in a few things for what you pay per night.

My parents absolutely love the Wilderness Lodge, I have only been there once but I really enjoyed it when we were in Whispering Canyon :) I'd probably say WL, i'm not too much of a fan of GF, too expensive for me

If money wasn't an issue I would do GF. I haver never stayed there, but have WL and as much as I likeed WL, GF seemes like the ultimate WDW experince. (It is also monorail and a great view of MK.) I agree that doing AK and WL are a bit alike and if money was an issue I would consider Poly instead of GF. (but between the 2, GF)

One thing, I don't know if I would start with GF, maybe do it last. Since it is the "flag ship of WDW", It might be good to end with it. You might be disapointed going to the others after it (but YC and AKL are my 2 favorite deluxes that I have stayed at and hardly disapointing in any way!)
