:happy:We have stayed at All star movies once and Pop 3 times. This trip will be only my husband and myself and I thought it would be fun to try some where different. I am hoping to get free dining (like everyone else). When we stay at Pop I always upgrade the free dining from QS to 1 ts 1qs dining(regular plan?) I have heard that staying at a moderate would be about the same price wise since I pay to upgrade. Is this somewhat true? If so what Moderate would you choose?

My favorite moderate to stay at is CSR. It is fun, the food is great, the grounds are beautiful and the rooms are neat and clean. But, since it is just the two of you, maybe a romantic trip and stay at POR? It is beautiful there. The mansions are so pretty, the rooms are nice and the food is good, too. I have had great bus service at both resorts.

Honestly, no matter which moderate you choose you can't go wrong. They are all lovely. POFQ is the smallest moderate, if that matters to you.

For us for the Nov trip that's coming up we got free dining. If we were gonna stay at PORS it would have been 2100 with free dining. All Star Movies (where we r staying this trip) was 1600 after upgrading to the regular dining plan...

It all depends on what theme most interests you.

CSR rooms are the closest to being deluxe quality. It also has an amazing pool, a nightclub, and a club level lounge if you are able to book a room at that level.

PO is great as well. If you like New Orleans atmosphere I would take POFQ. It is also smaller than the other mods so its easier to get around. POR has great theming and can be very peaceful and great to explore. POR has the better food court and a table service restaurant. POFQ does not.

POFQ. We've been there twice now and we love it! I'm trying to talk my wife into trying a different resort but it's an uphill battle. Even though our park time wasn't as much fun this year we still love the resort. It's almost enough to make you forget any bad stuff.

I'd do POFQ, POR, or CSR. I know a lot of people like CBR but I hate that they still have double not queen beds and although the spread out feel of the resort is nice if you like quiet/privacy it can be a lot of walking depending on where your room is. The themes of all the resorts are great and I'm sure you'll have a great time now matter which one you pick. When I'm having trouble deciding (outside of which has a room discount) I look at where I think we'll be spending the majority of our time. For instance, when we go at this time of year we spend more time than usual at Epcot because of food and wine so for a moderate we stay at CSR or CBR. If we're doing a lot of mk we do POFQ or POR. If I travel with my granddaughter I like POR because the pool area is nice for me to sit at and easily keep an eye on her.

We are going Nov 30-Dec 6 at PoP with free dining and upgraded to reg dining as well. To stay at a moderate resort was going to be $200 more.

I think the Value is still a bit cheaper when upgrading to the regular dining plan, but the increase to stay in a moderate is SO WORTH IT! It is not a huge increase, like going from a mod to a deluxe that's for sure.

Our favorite resort to stay is Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside. For the money, you really do get what you pay for. We especially love the boat service to DTD. POR has one of the best food courts. The grounds are awesome and you just feel immersed in that Disney bubble 24/7.

Depends on your party. For instance, a standard mod weekday during Fall season is $176, while a standard value weekday at the same time is $96. Would it cost you $80 to upgrade the meal plans? $58.66 vs $39.64 for an adult comparing DDP vs QSDP. So only $19 for the upgrade. The room would cost you an extra what, $4 per night vs upgrading 4 adults? If you have less than 4 adults, or any combination of adults and juniors, then the upgrade might make more sense. Run the numbers for your specific situation and see what works.

Coronado hands down! Grounds are awesome, pool is nice. The Table service dining is good, and the lounge there is great. If you like to run the the path in the hotel I think is close to a mile ( i could be wrong, it has been a while). Deluxe feel with moderate price.

Even when upgrading the DDP it's still cheaper to stay at a value then update to a moderate. Our favorite mod resort is CSR though. THe atmosphere is so topical and the resort is centrally located to all the parks IMO

I suggest POFQ. It is a beautiful resort, great theming, nice food court and pool area. It is small for a moderate resort so no matter where your room is, it is close to everything. The bus service ran well. My kids loved the CM who gave out coins at the entrance which they then used to make wishes in the well. They also loved getting beads everywhere. The boat to DD is very relaxing and you can always take a walk over to PORS to eat or check things out. Once you stay at a moderate, you will never want to stay at a value resort again.

I can't say anything bad about any mods since I haven't stayed at them all. But having stayed at POFQ, and visited POR, I can say that I loved both. So quiet and romantic (was an anniversary trip after all!). It was a nice place to relax and unwind after a busy park day. We are going back again in the Spring to check out the Royal Rooms on the Riverside. :)

We were booked at Pop for December 2012 when the free dining offer came out. It cost us exactly $27 more to switch to CBR with regular free dining than it would have been to upgrade from free QS dining. No brainer! Welove the atmosphere at CBR.

Yeah, when I do free dining it's with two adults and it's still quite a bit cheaper for us to stay at a value and upgrade the dining plan. But if you want a nicer, more "grown up" setting, then a mod is worth looking into.

Free dining always cost more for me an paying cash, so I never did that and cant offer opinions there.

As far as mods go, I think that you should look at pics of the place and the rooms and then pick the one that calls your name. There really isn't a big enough difference to recommend one over another. They all have good and bad points. Just because one person likes this one or that one...doesn't mean you will.

Also, remember that most people haven't stayed in all the mods multiple times. They may have gone to one on one occasion and then sing its praises. Follow YOUR taste.

Whatever you like, that's what you should pick. :)
