OK, it looks like I will be able to afford for me and my sweetie to stay in a deluxe resort for one night if we want to (we are planning on the dolphin for our other nights)

Which would everyone reccomend?

Wilderness?
AK?

Thoughts please

I'd stay at AKL. We stayed at the Boardwalk this summer and loved it, yet found ourselves going over to AKL a couple of times to eat and take in the atmosphere. If you do decide to go with AKL, give Jiko a try for dinner. My wife and I ate their and it was fantastic.

My family and I stay at the Dolphin or Swan each time we go. (Usually 3 times a year.) We love the atomsphere of the Dolphin/Swan and the convenience to the Boardwalk and Epcot areas. I really don't think it is worth the hassle to move to another hotel for just 1 night. I would just planted at the Dolphin. You will not go wrong. I hope you have a good one. We'll be there for Thanksgiving and guest where we're staying again!

Oh, I would stay at AKL no questions asked! The rooms are so beautiful, and if you stay in a Savannah View room, it would be extra memorable! There is so much to explore at AKL that I guarantee you will want to stay there again! It is really an experience unlike no other! I would pick AKL!

My vote is for the Yacht Club. Just got back from there and it was awesome. Went over to the Swan and DOlphin and that looked pretty nice, but you should spend at least a little time at Stormalong Bay!

I´d be between AKL and WL (but you are too, right?) :D I wouldn´t pick any of the ones around Epcot because you are already staying at the Dolphin, so it´s the same area.

Flip a coin! :animwink:

I just came back from WDW and stayed at three different resorts this time. I stayed 2 or 3 days at each which was enough time to get settled, but I kept feeling like I had barely arrived all the way up to the last day. I'm not sure I'd want to jump over to another resort for just one night unless you're really intent upon trying out another one.

As already mentioned, you definitely want to rule out the other Epcot resorts if you're staying at the Dolphin since they're all a 5 minute walk from each other. I'd recommend staying at one of the MK resorts since your time will be short. That way you can take advantage of the monorail to the MK and, most of all, avoid the buses.

:( Ummmmm you never said when you were going? Are you sure you want to pack and unpack, move for one night? I do not know the $$ for the Swan/Dolphin??? or if you are getting a good rate or not but--- I would rather stay at one of the "regular" Disney resorts. My opinion. Those places are toooo big for me. :lookaroun: Too convention like.

Port Orleans Riverside is great, for a moderate resort, although I love the Wilderness Lodge! My favorite!! :D When I have the $$ or a good rate is available. I guess it all depends on your budget and the rates when you are going. They have had some good rates now up to a few days bfore and after Christmas. Also, if you have AAA you can get that discount from Disney if you ask for it and it is available.

No matter where you stay Enjoy and have fun! If you do stay at the Dolphin/Swan maybe you can just go and check out the other resorts have dinner at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary-- I just am not good at packing and unpacking. Once I get there I kind of camp in-- Ha Ha  :lookaroun :D

I would have to say Wilderness Lodge, it is THE best deluxe resort that I have ver stayed in. The lobby is HUGE (I think 7 floors) and has excellent themeing. My best experience was always being on the ground floor on the left wing close to the Roaring Fork with access to the pool (Courtyard view) from that area you can get a short walk to the Roaring Fork, then just walk out your sliding glass doors into the Wilderness. But if you get the right wing, its still good but you have to walk out your glass doors across the courtyard back in the doors by the PT cart and then to Roaring Fork, thats what I had in April, we prefere the left wing but the experience is the same, remember Roaring Fork isn't open 24H like it used to...my family walked up at 11:01 and they wouldnt let us in, they said they closed at 11.....

My favourite is the Contemporary tower. It's definately worth the money. But you won't want to leave after only one night. I didn't want to leave after eight nights!

We loved the Grand Floridian and seeing the castle right off the lagoon. Only problem was we had children and you really cannot take a 2 year old and a 6 month old out to a restaurant and expect to have a good time. But otherwise it had two great pools, large rooms, complimentry robes during the stay, veranda's and what looked like great restaurants. Plan to go back some time without the kids or at least when they are old enough to behave during a meal.

I agree - stay at a monorail resort because you'll be so close to EPCOT the rest of your stay. Personally, I love the atmosphere at the Polynesian, but if you're really into upscale service and surroundings, you might like the Grand Floridian better.
