Which Polynesian Longhouse?

Well I see now that the longhouse we always request, Niue has turned into a smoking longhouse. One of our DS's has asthma, so this is definetely out of the question. I faxed our room request before and told them DS had asthma so I also needed a longhouse close to GCH because he stays in the park too long when its humid and sometimes we have to get to the room and hook him up to the machine. So time is of the essence. They gave us the remodeled Aotearoa bldg. once. It was nice, but I was looking at the Samoa bldg. too. Does anyone know which is the closest to the GCH, pool and Captain Cooks. With the hot aug. heat I am trying to keep his walking down to a minimum. We always get a wheelchair in the parks for him and he does use it when needed. I try to keep the steroids to a minimum or he will be bouncing off the walls. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I just saw that Niue became a smoking longhouse, but the good thing about that is that Samoa became a non-smoking longhouse. We stayed in Samoa last year (as non-smokers) and we loved the location. I definately recommend Samoa. It has a great central location.

Samoa?

We are staying at the Polynesian this coming October, and we requested the Samoa building because we are traveling with an infant (and his 3 1/2 year old older brother!). I read somewhere that Samoa is smoking optional-- Disney Insider, is this true? And can you tell me if the rooms there are remodeled? Do they still have two sinks? Because we will have to be washing a lot of baby bottles, we really need two sinks. Can you help?

Another question, is the upgrade to Concierge really worth it? We are on the fairy tale package, and have a garden view room now. We want to be close to the GCH (and the monorail!) and the volcano pool.

Thanks!!

Try this link for some more information about the Polynesian. We usually stay at the Rauratonga (sp) which is just east of the Great Ceremonial House. It's close to the monorail after a long day. It's non-smoking and request the first or third floor to get a full balcony.

Hope this helps!

There's tons of Polynesian information here.

Remember too, that what looks like a huge hike on the maps isn't really that far.

I seem to remember reading that to walk from one end of the Polynesian to the other at a slow pace takes about 6 minutes.

To answer LoriL--some longhouses have 2 sinks, but I think most do not. If that is important you want to request Tahiti (5 minute walk to GCH, but very near TTC for the Epcot monorail). My information says that "some rooms" in Rapa Nui have 2 sinks.
