In the company’s thirty year history, a total of 30 films have been released. 21 of those 30 have been original films while the rest have been sequels. So far only Toy Story, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Inside Out and Coco 2 is getting a release within the next 3 years. The company seems to be shifting towards making more sequels like Toy Story 5, Incredibles 3 and Monsters Inc 2 but will it just be from the movies listed above or will they dig into other past releases?
The Big 3 as I like to call them have yet to have any sequels, those titles being Wall-E, Ratatouille and Up. They are popular enough to warrant a sequel but not sure if it will ever happen. Other titles released within the company’s first twenty years such as A Bug’s Life, Brave and The Good Dinosaur will probably never see a sequel.
Throughout the last six years, Pixar has released a huge entourage of original films. The list includes Soul, Onward, Luca, Turning Red, Elemental, Lightyear, Elio and Hoppers. Are any of them popular enough to warrant a sequel? IMO definitely not Lightyear, Soul or Onward. What’s everybody’s opinion?
