Looking into a holiday next oct (2017) and we want a moderate resort as we can upgrade the dining plan on an offer that is available at over here in England. What are people's opinions on the moderates and which would you recommend?

No there's just me (27) and my bf (25). We've dine Paris a couple of times and we love it, and he's so excited to go. We're making it our final expensive holiday before saving for a house so we don't mind splurging on things but can't go quite as far as a deluxe resort :p

My husband and I love Port Orleans French Quarter, but it's often not included on the discounts, so you could go with Riverside. We like that one a lot as well :) We haven't tried the other two, but I would like to someday!

The only one I would not recommend is Caribbean Beach. It is too large for my tastes. I think CSR would be a good choice, as it has a more upscale feel to it than the other moderates. POFQ is also very nice. It is very small and has a quaint, intimate feel to it.

All hotels are included, you get a certain level of dining plan for free dependant on the level of hotel you pick. If we have a moderate it's only £250 more to upgrade the dining plan so we get a table service meal per day as well.... My be likes the pirate rooms at CB resort but are they worth it? I've read a lot about the others and how nice they are

Yeah I do quite like the French quarter, so I may have words.... Just promise him numerous rides on pirates of the Caribbean. We're pricing it for 10 days but would it be worth extending it to the full two weeks so you think? Considering its around 6 hours on a plane to get there and we won't be able to afford it again for a while

The Pirate Rooms are the last thing I would recommend. They are the only rooms at the moderate resorts with double sized beds instead of queens. Plus they are the farthest away from the resort amenities, which is why Disney themed them. To make them more attractive.

Ahhhh well then that's that sorted..... I have to admit I'm liking the look of the French quarter. What's the transport like into the parks? Easy to get from where it's located or not?

This question has been discussed many times, if you search you should find a lot of feedback on the topic.

Caribbean Beach seems to get the most negative comments because it is so spread out and has more bus stops than the others.

Coronado doubles as convention centre. Some people love this for the extra amenities and possibly less people on the buses heading to the parks. Some people don't like the vibe of the resort. It's also spread out. I like the long walk to the food court or lobby, some people don't.

The Port Orleans resorts have boat service to Disney Springs, which is a nice change from the usual buses. French Quarter is the smalles of the moderates, if you prefer that. PO and FQ have the benefit of being within walking distance from each other and you can use both pools, so you get some added variety.

I'm a fan of Coronado, and it would be a good fit for two adults.

Each moderate has its own "charm" to it.;) Caribbean Beach has a nice bridge to cross that has fish and turtles. You can see part of EPCOT "fireworks" from the beach there. Port Orleans Riverside is lovely with a decent restaurant Boatwright's. Port Orleans French Quarter has become more "kid friendly" with the addition of a new splash and play area for little ones. Both Port Orleans has access to Disney Springs via boat.:) If you like the feel of Mexico, and like Mexican food, you'll like Coronado Springs ( large convention resort). IMHO you can't go wrong with any of those choices. Have fun!:D

Port Orleans French Quarter. If only I could have a "do-over" with my wife(at your ages), French Quarter would be it. Leisurely walks along the river. Two food courts and a sit down restaurant (Riverside is very near by) to choose from without bussing around. The free boat ride to Disney Springs. Nightly strolls around the "streets". Beignets and coffee in the morning. You will have no regrets,,,,,,,,only great memories.

Coronado Springs! I love CSR and especially the business class rooms. We've stayed in the BC rooms every trip since they opened. Its open for breakfast and snacks and drinks in the evening. But for me the best part is the location. It is close to everything.

Very good transportation that is not shared and because it is a convention resort, you benefit from having some deluxe amenities like a spa, salon, fitness center and more.

I think I'm definitely leaning more towards the port Orleans now. You walk enough around the parks without having to walk ages in a morning or for q bus.... Seem a slightly better deal as well online.

I'm so exited I can't wait!!!

You will really like PO. We stayed there for 8 nights back in 2015 and really enjoyed it. Our only gripe was the bus stopping at all the different depots at Riverside. I'm not sure if there are multiple stops at French Quarter, but at Riverside, the bus stops at multiple different depots around the property before you actually exit the resort.

Other than that, it was an amazing place and we will definitely be back!

French Quarter has only one stop, but buses may also stop at Riverside. Disney Springs buses often stop at both, theme park buses may stop at both resorts during off-peak times.

I've seen comments saying that it can be worthwhile to walk from Riverside to French Quarter to catch a bus, due to the multiple stops at Riverside.

My choices: 1) Port Orleans French Quarter
2) Port Orleans Riverside
3) Caribbean Beach
Wife's choices: Exactly the reverse.
POFQ is small, not a lot of walking. Riverside has Boatwright's Restaurant. Both have boats to Disney Springs.
Carribean is large, but very nice. Actually has a more laid-back feel than PO.
All 3 border on perfection in my opinion.

Ditto. Stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter 2 times and loved it! Tried Coronado Springs last time and we didn't like the looooong walk back to the food court/front desk area. For something different we are trying the Caribbean Beach Resort this year. We opted for the upgraded room to be closer to the food court/pool area, so we'll see. The quality of the rooms at POFQ and CS were both excellent. No more time than we spend at our rooms we just couldn't justify the cost of the deluxe resorts.
