Which is "worse" in terms of movement

A friend is going next month and asked what rides are okay for her child who suffers from motion sickness. I thought Shrek and Despicable Me would both be okay.

Would that be a fair assessment? Please don't mock, I don't have a problem with rides but understand some do so was just wanting a different persons perspective. The child can and probably will take pills but even so I'd like to give an accurate answer (ie avoid Transformers)

What kind of motion sickness? I have to take meds to ride ANYTHING. I need smooth moments and non spinning. With meds I can ride almost anything

My son however only has problems if we are in stop and go traffic for an extended amount of time. Spinning doesn't bother him at all.

Shrek isn't a ride, it's a 3D show with seats that just shake a little. They may have a problem with Despicable Me, as it's a simulator, albeit a relatively tame one. It's difficult to recommend anything without knowing what the person's threshold is.

Shrek isn't likely to produce motion sickness. The extent of the movement is your chair shakes. That's it. Not much different than Honey, I Shrunk the Audience.

Despicable Me is more like a motion simulator, but there are also some seats that are static. I'm sure you could request those seats if you're worried about motion sickness.

I know what Shrek is. I just meant it moves.

Apparently he's fine with Peter Pan type rides (so I guess just moving!)

I'm wondering if in Despicable Me he closed his eyes if he felt rough that would solve it? I've only ridden it once but most of the feeling you're moving is through your eyes deceiving you isn't it? I don't recall the seats moving a whole lot

Closing his eyes will only help in a stationary seat. If they're in a moving seat it will just make things worse.

Despicable Me and Shrek both have stationary seating and they encourage you to move to this section of the theater if you have motion sickness. That's why both of these are the two true all-ages E-tickets since everyone can ride if they choose to.

Shriek isn't a ride, it's a movie. Your seat shakes a little, but that's it.

I haven't done Despicable Me yet. The only thing in Orlando that I haven't done. I have to watch the movie first, but never get around to it.

Has the child been to Disney? Can he ride things there?
