I don't think you can really compare those two attractions very well since yes they are both simulators but with completely different ride vehicles.

This is apples and oranges, but since it’s a vote between these two, it’s Forbidden journey hands down!
Smugglers run is simply a glorified Star Tours, where Forbidden journey is a really unique ride system and the attraction mixes imax, motion simulator, and dark ride with a great omnimover type loading system. Both queues are excellent, but Forbidden journey’s queue is much better in my opinion.

They both have moving robotic arm based vehicles and elaborate theming
