Which Hotels on the Monorail

Sorry if this was naswered before, but I searched all over with no luck.
I went to DW over 10 years ago, but we stayed at a hotel on the monorail which I thought was THE best way to go. I have a family now and want to plan a trip, but I can't tell which hotels (many weren't there when I was there before!) are on the monrail line. I want the ones with stops right next to the hotel rather than take a bus/tram to the monorail.

Also just out of curiosity how do you get to the Animal park from the hotel?

Thx

The Monorail hotels are the Contemporary, the Polynesian, and the Grand Floridian. To get to Animal Kingdom from any of these, you'll have to take a bus.

The Grand Floridan, Contemperary, The Polynesian are all on the monorail line. (I think i forgot some...). If you need to get to Animal Kingdom the only way to get there from the resorts is to take a bus.

Monorail resorts are the Contemporary, the Polynesian and the Grand Floridian.

You get to Animal Kingdom via bus from the resorts or other parks.

Though not on the monorail line, the Wilderness Lodge is also a hop, skip and a jump (well, at least a boat ride or a 5 minute bus ride to the Transportation and Ticket Center) away from the Magic Kingdom. We really liked staying there last fall. In addition, the WL is not as expensive as the MK monorail resorts.

my 2 cents....

kids...

If you are looking for a suitable monorail hotel your best bet would be the Contemporary or even the Polynesian depending on the age of your kids. The Contemporary has Chef Mickey's Character Dining and I believe that The Polynesian has some sort of character dining as well if Im not mistaken. Visit the different disney websites. For example http://www.allearsnet.com
or even http://www.wdwinfo.com

Hope that helps. Good Luck.

I love staying at the Contemporary because of Chef Mickey's, the marina, the short walking (or running) distance to Magic Kingdom (yes, I actually RUN! I hate running lol)... But whichever resort you choose you'll have a fantastic time.
