Where would you stay if....

Where would you stay in Orlando if you had not plans of going to Disney at all. My girlfriends and I are planning a quick trip to Orlando in early December but they don't want to do Disney (it breaks my heart but I may be out voted I may sneak away though). So anyway, where would you stay? We are looking for somewhere nice and fairly inexpensive. But we want someplace with free parking and a bar. Any help is appreciated!

I was going to suggest one of Universal's 3 hotels. However, if you are looking for something inexpensive, that isn't going to work. The Royal Pacific is the cheapest of the 3, but that is going to cost you somewhere in the neighborhood of $170/night or so, depending if you have AAA or if any other discounts are available.

I've stayed at the Wyndam on I-Drive via Priceline for under $50 a night. The room was huge. The pool was nice. And parking was free. Also, as a Wyndam ByRequest member, they gave me some free cheese, fruit and wine in my room. Unfortunately, you'll have to deal with the tackiness of I-Drive. Ick.

We are looking in the International drive area, so if anyone knows of any other good hotels that is appreciated.

I always stay at the Parc Corniche.

Nice rooms, good pool, nice service.

Thanks for some of the suggestions. We decided on the Radisson Barcelo. Oh, and I think I have my friends convinced to go to Epcot! :wave:
