Where to stay at Caribbean Beach?

We've always stayed at POR but we're trying Caribbean Beach for the first time this summer. We don't want to pay extra for a preferred room so any recommendations on which "island" or building to stay in? We have 2 little ones (1 and 4) but don't mind walking (this is Disney, right? All we do is walk).

Go with Jamaica or Aruba. It's a really nice walk in the morning across the island in the middle of the lake. These two areas are closest to the bridge, and once you're on the other side, you're right at the food court area. It's far enough to let you take in the atmosphere, but not so far that you dread doing it. Avoid Trinidad South if possible. Never stayed down there but it seems like a hike to the food court.

Here's a map:

Caribbean Beach Resort.

Well our first trip to WDW in 2004, we stayed at CBR and were at Aruba which was central to everything at the resort. We go to WDW every two years and now big fans of POFQ and PORS,but iam sure you'll love CBR no matter where you are located.

We stayed at CBR this past December at the Jamaica village. No complaints. Close to bus stop, first stop when picking up and first stop when returning to hotel from parks. Short walk to Old Port Royale (food court and shop) and very quiet sorroundings in a nice environment close to the lake. Highly recommend it.

Thanks for all the advice. We requested buildings 51 or 52 at Aruba and 45 or 44 at Jamaica. Hopefully they'll be able to put us in one of those four.

Perfect - that's your best bet. The footbridge gives you a lovely view of the resort, and it's a really short walkt to the food court and main swimming pool from those buildings.

Avoid Trinidad South and Barbados like the plague. Way too far away.

Request a room in Aruba or Jamaica, nearest to the footbridge. Great location. I would reccomend paying a little extra (if you can) for a water view. Many of them are beautiful there. Just request LAKE VIEW, so it's not confused with pool view.
