Where to go evenings aside from MK, Epcot, and DTD?

If you rested in your room for a couple of hours and it was around, say, 4pm, and you didn't want to go back to MK, Epcot, or DTD, where would you go? I'm really just trying to decide if in a situation like that we'd go to any of the other WDW parks. Probably it wouldn't be worth the time to get there. I know there's plenty of other stuff to do (visiting another resort, boat rides, swimming at our resort, dinner, etc.) Just trying to plan park days really.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

If you have your own transportation and like classic cars/motorbikes then just down the 192 there is Old Town . they have a cruise night thursday (bikes) friday and saturday (cars) with gift shops etc.

I personally find it a great time to go mini golfing at Fantasia Gardens. It takes a little bit to get there, you'll need to get to the Swan/Dolphin and then walk across the street. Since we are staying at the Boardwalk in December, we kill two birds with one stone, we'll have the Boardwalk and mini golf options!

We are going during that time too. It can be a nuisance but just stay longer at the park get in what you can, then go to the hotel to relax. We did that on our last trip in 2011 and honestly barely noticed there were days that MK closed at 7pm.

My problem is that we'll have a 4 yr old, and I don't want to push him all day. I want to bring him back to the resort for some rest, then go back to the parks. But with MK closing at 7 so many days, it doesn't leave many opportunities to go back to the MK for the parade/fireworks. But as someone suggested if we hang out at the resort one day, we can do the Halloween party which as someone said they let you in early for, so just have a Halloweeny evening/night at the MK. It'll work great if we do that one of the later days in the visit, because we'll all be ready for a day where we can sleep in a bit, have a real breakfast, relax, swim, etc.

That is true. Our last trip our daughter was 3 and she did amazingly well. She took naps in the stroller when she needed them and this allowed us to ride some of our fave rides while swapping. She will be 5 this trip and she remembers most of it and tends to fight sleep so I have a feeling she will be the one pushing us to go, go, go! We shall see!

Tell me, do the horse rides cost more? And what age do you have to be to do it?

I'm not sure what position you are to pay the extra/or if your kids are old enough. But, I don't want you to think that's the only thing to do there. You can visit Cinderella's horses, you can take carriage rides, etc. There are a lot of activities at Ft. Wilderness.

Thanks. My little is only gonna be 5, she is almost 48 inches tall but not quite. :) That sounds like fun though!

We love Ft. Wilderness at night. Granted, we're a little spoiled because we're at WL, so it's just a boat ride away. But, our kids love the horse rides and other fun activities to do there. Our favorite is Chip and Dale's Campfire Sing Along with the outdoor movie. That's really a good time.

Another great idea! FW is fun for kids of all ages.
