Hey guys!
advice on breakfast at the magic kingdom around 9 am?
the best friend and I are planning on going to the opening of mk one morning and want to grab a quick bite there while we are at it. any suggestions?

preferably something quicker and not TS/sit down.

Thanks!

P.S, if anyone has been to the opening of the park...how is it? It is a mad house, is it worth it?

:)

If I was heading to the MK for a sit down, I'd stop just before I got to the MK at the Poly, Kona. That is about the only breakfast I'd spend a dining credit on or pay out of pocket for. Breakfast food is so cheap for the amount Disney charges.

QS at the MK, hands down, Sleepy Hollow, Waffles.

Depending on when you are going, the Main Street bakery is a good choice. It's being refurbed currently to add Starbucks products. If you're not dead set against TS, make a Rez for as early as possible. For example, crystal palace has seating normally before the park is officially open. Being a buffet style place, you could get in grab a quick bite and be ready to go at rope drop.

FYI-Main Street Bakery is a goner! History! (going to be the new Starbucks facility) Cinnamon roll is now served in FLE but you have to truck all the way back there. Also the frosting has been changed to a maplely frosting now. :p

Either way, the location is scheduled to be closed until mid May.

There is cold cereal and muffins at the Cheshire cafe in fantasyland and there is a quick service in tomorrowland that does coffee and muffins. Tomorrowland terrace also has oatmeal, bacon, waffles, etc.
The opening show is great, just start heading towards the park entrance when they start counting.
Also, beware of the families that sprint to fantsyland upon rope drop. They will run u over.
Have fun!

I think the breakfast choices have been covered pretty well. As to what is opening like... We really enjoy rope drop at MK. It's not something we hit every day we are at MK, but at least one of them we will go to watch the opening ceremonies and rope drop. On a side note, I don't have huge issues with a properly themed Starbucks that blends in with MSUSA. But I do have a problem with them messing with my beloved cinnamon roll. They can even move it to Gaston's, but please don't mess with that delicious thick ooey gooey topping that bends the spatula when they go to put some more on the top. Almost makes me drool on my keyboard thinking about it :p

just a vote for Gaston's. we did this recently, no line. no, really, one person in front of us- quick cinnamon roll and then we did FLE while there. worked well. nice outside tables to enjoy the surroundings

We usually eat a light breakfast and aim more for lunch, so I can't help you much there. If you get a table service in the morning, you will already be in the park.

If, I were you I would have a light breakfast and certainly be there for opening. It is amazing and makes me tear up everytime! At that point, you will then want to head for some of the bigger attractions bc wait times will be really short! Then you can grab a bite to eat and I highly recommend Columbia Harbor House for a quick service meal.

Wow, thanks for all of the responses I have lots to choose from! We will be there in late February for the disney princess 1/2 marathon so the reason I opted out of TS is because we have to make it to an expo. Where is Sleepy Hollow located? Those waffles look bangin! I would love to do Crystal Palce but we have reservations for 2 more TS meals while we are there and the budget won't allow it :(

Thanks again!! :)
