Hi,

Our next trip to our fav place will be in August and we're finalizing our dinner plans. Can anyone give me their opinion or review of Biergarten, the restaurant in Morocco and the restaurant in France? We have two boys 8 and 14 and we're trying to figure out which one to do. We've never been to these restaurants. How is the food, atmosphere, etc.

Thanks alot!!!

I can only comment on the Biergarten. It is a nice buffet with great food, Wiener Schnitzel, Spaetzel, Sauerbraten, salads, various sausages, as I recall they had chicken nuggets too. There was a big variety of food and the Oktoberfest celebration is fun, singing, dancing. We enjoy it very much and try to hit the Biergarten every couple of years.

We always eat at Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco at lunchtime. The food is different without being weird...all the basic ingredients, but with a few more exotic spices than I use at home... not spicy, subtle.

We always get the Chef's Special (which never seems to change  ) ...
starts out with a wonderful salad, followed by a lunch version of the Sultan Sampler (a grilled brochette of either beef or chicken served with a Beef Brewat Roll and Chicken Bastilla served with vegetable couscous $19.95)...its usually the Chicken and you get either the brewat or the bastilla and the you get Crepes Atlas ( apple crepes with cinnamon topped with ice cream and almonds) all for about $14.95. :slurp:

We have never eaten dinner there, but the menu looks wonderful...

I have 2 girls 18 and almost 12 and we have been eating there the last few years... the kid's menu is somewhat limited and they don't serve cheese for no cheeseburgers. The youngest likes the adult menu.

Oh yeah, don't forget the music and the bellydancer.

I would personally rank them in this order:

1. Biergarten. The buffet has good food and the atmosphere is pretty cool. Really pay attention to the design of the inside of the restaurant. Very intricate details. I like the live show while you eat.

2. Chefs de France. My wife and I ate their for the first time in May. The lobster bisque and onion soup were excellent, and so were the desserts (creme brulee and puffs with ice cream and chocolate sauce). But we were a little disappointed in the entrees. I had the roasted chicken and potatoes. The chicken was a little dry and the potatoes had no flavor. My wife had the lamb, and she didn't particularly care for the seasoning they used (but she really likes lamb generally).

3. Restaurant Marrakesh. We ate here a few years ago. The belly dancer was very impressive, but I didn't care for the food. Just not the type of food I like, but my wife thought her meal (the kebab) was really good. She would go back.

Le Cellier would still be my favorite World Showcase restaurant.

Have a great time!

I think your kids will most enjoy the Biergarten. The live entertainment is so much fun for the little ones and adults too! You can actually participate, and go down to the main floor. It's a great atmosphere too. You will be sitting at a banquet table of 8. I've always enjoyed meeting other families and talking with them about their trip. You may find more kid-friendly food offerings at the Biergarten too.

I love Chefs de France also. They have the best french onion soup as well as desserts. The cast members are super friendly and helpful. It's an absolutely beautiful setting. Ask for a window table if you can. They have a great lunch special too.

Marrakesh is fun to try. It's not one of my favorites at World Showcase, but it's an interesting atmosphere. I love the music & belly dancer. The food was just a little too exotic for me. I didn't care for some of the spices used in the entrees. I did enjoy the apple crepes, salad, and bread.

I love Chef de France, the food is excellent, I always get the beef tenderloin without the sauce and the au gratin potatoes are great. I would highly recommend this place. I also love Le Cellier in Canada, great steaks and pretzel bread. Nine Dragons in China is also very good.

The one time I ate at Marrakesh, I really didn't care for the food, just because of the spices, etc they used, wasn't to my taste, so that's just me. Biergarten I can't stand the smell of the cooking sauerkraut and don't particularly like the food offerings here, again a personal preference.

Although I haven't been to Les Chefs de France or Restaurant Marrakesh, I have been to Biergarten and a few others.

Biergarten is one of my favorite restaurants in Epcot, next to the Garden Grill in the Land pavillion. I love the atmosphere, and the CMs are very nice. Service has always been great there. The food is good but it also depends on your taste.

Teppanyaki in Japan was my least favorite. I've had MUCH better food in the local Japanese restaurants here in Louisiana. However, it was fun and the service was great. I ended up buying a snack within an hour after eating there.

San Angel Inn has great atmosphere, the food is fairly decent (but not the best). Service is so-so. I don't like how the tables are so close to each other. Maybe it's just my imagination...but they are too darn close.

We have enjoyed both Marrakesh and Biergarten. We ate at Marrakesh the year we were married - 21 years ago - and had couscous for the first time. We really liked it and now cook it regularly at home. We ate at Marrakesh last year for our 20th anniversary, and enjoyed it yet again.

On that same trip we ate at the Biergarten for the first time and thought the food was good and the meal was great fun. You do eat at tables with other people, which was fine with us - just added to the pleasure.

I think the boys would love the Biergarten best , of the ones you mentioned! There is an "OOM PAH" band that entertains while you dine and gets the audience involved in German friendship "toasts" that the boys will like.

The food at The Beirgarten is GREAT! :slurp:

I hated the food at Morrocco. :hurl:

The French places I could take or leave.

Another place they might like over there is the Mexican Restaurant becasue of its cool indoor dark "night time" environment with a volocano on the wall and boats cruising through while you dine!

HAVE FUN!

Biergarten definately! GOod food, good show, great atmosphere.

I also like the Rose and Crown in England. The Bangers and mash are great and if you don't like cabbage ask for it without squeak!

Only 8 more days until disney!
