Where to buy tickets?

So I've briefly read somewhere on here that they are already doing the touch to entry wrist band ticket deal. I have a short trip planned next week and was thinking about checking my local Disney store, however I don't want to be down there and miss the opportunity to use this new system and then have to wait in longer lines because of this. A 3 day park hopper goes for like $314 according to DisneyWorld.com. So should I wait till we get there to try and get the wrist band deal or look into the regular tickets from the Disney store?

A little more info, used to be an AP for years but didn't renew when it came time to last year just because of the way fastpass was/is being handled. So it's been a little over a year since I've last been.

Wrist bands are *not* in use at all yet. (If anything, just a handful of specifically-invited testers)

What is in use are the RFID ticket media for park entry. All WDW resort room keys are now RFID as well as all new ticket sales from WDW park ticket windows. So if you're looking to get a ticket that's RFID enabled, buy your ticket at a WDW ticket window when you get there. I don't know if tickets bought at offsite Disney Stores are RFID enabled. (I'd guess not)

I know the room key media specifically has the My Disney Experience Mickey head logo (Mickey head inside a circle) to denote that it's RFID-enabled media. I'd presume the new ticket media is similar, but I haven't heard one way or the other.

Thanks for the replies. It's definitely cheaper to buy from the Disney store. I could get a 4 day park hopper from the Disney store for the price of a 3 day if I were to buy at the window. However, if there is some added perks by having the rfid then I don't want to miss out. I know if they're testing then it's a select few that get to be apart of it, but I think the chances of being apart of it would be better if we bought them there. I still have a few days to decide but more then likely I'll be going with the cheaper option. Also with the turnstyles now pretty much being all rfid, I don't want to have to wait in longer lines because I have the 'old' ticket media which I'm sure will cause a back up. Either way, I'm just ready to have some fun, it's been awhile.

If you are staying at a Disney resort you can buy your tickets at the Disney Store and when you get there have them added to your resort key card.

I'm not sure where you're buying them, but tickets sold at U.S. Disney Stores are sold at exactly the same price as the current gate prices at the parks...

I don't know where the cheapest tickets are. I have bought tickets from Maple Leaf and from Undercover Tourist. Both were great.

Whatever you do, don't buy them at the gate. You might have to stand in line and heaven knows there are enough lines at WDW.

Most hotels in Orlando sell tickets, if you don't get around to it until you arrive. :)

If you're thinking of the wristbands, I think they're only testing them with select resort guests at certain resorts. So just getting tickets wouldn't get you into the program. I'd just get them from the Disney store so you have them ahead of time.

According to DisneyWorld.com, the price for a 3 day park hopper is at least $15 to $20 more. I think I'm gonna go ahead and Get them from the Disney store. But I still have a little time left, so I will see.
