We will be heading down there very soon and I really want my daughter to have one of those Mouse Ear hats and have them put her name on the back of it. (I had one when I was 4 years old as well!) :) Do they still sell them at Disney, and if so anyone know where? And about how much $$? Also do they put the name on while we wait or is it something we come back and pick up?

There is also a shop on Hollywood Boulevard in Disney Hollywood Studios. Prices depend on the hat you chose and if I remember correctly the type of script you chose. When we were there, we picked a hat and the style of writing, paid for the hat and was told to come back in a few hours to pick up the ears. It was very simple.

Le Chapeau is the best place, in my opinion. It's on your right after you enter the magic kingdom, a great selection and they embroider them while you wait. I think they normally charge $5 but when we told the cast member that it was our daughters first visit they did it for free!

the chapeau is the best place with the biggest selection. they do embroidery for a small fee with purchase. depending on how crowded they are, you may want to leave it and have them hold it til the end of the night or deliever it to your hotel.

In 2009 we got two for our niece and nephew. We did it right at the end of the night at MK after Wishes was over. The lineup was long for us, but one of my fondest memories of Disney happened right then. My wife was in the store waiting for them to finish and I strolled outside, at night, and walked around Main Street. It was so quiet because no one was there anymore. It was peaceful and I have never seen it like that before.

But yeah, get the hats, they are worth it

Agree with the Chapeau at the right of candy shop at beginning of Main St.They have awesome variety and will personalise it for you,got "Mad Hatter" on mine last week.Isnt it funny when you wear it in WDW no one butts an eyelid, yet two days ago I wore mine shopping in our local supermarket and was nearly flung out for being as mad as a hatter.Life sucks outside the magic bubble.

I miss the free embroidery that was done by hand. That was truly special.

Do be aware that a small number of the hat designs are not able to be embroidered.
