Where is Downtown Disney in relation to WDW? Is it pretty close? Also, do you have to take a bus to get to Downtown from the parks?

Downtown Disney is located a couple of minutes from Epcot. To get there just jump on any bus and take it over there. I believe it's the new bus hub since the places closes at 1am or so. I also think there's a bus stop at every resort and park so it should be a pretty direct route.
Hope that helps :)

In relation to WDW? Well, Downtown Disney is in Disney World. It is directly It is almost right across the street from Typhoon Lagoon and is extremely close to Port Orleans and is only a jump from Old Key West and the Disney Institute. As a matter of fact, they used to have boat service to it from PO sort of like how Epcot and MGM have it from a bunch of the Epcot resorts. There should be a direct bus taking you to it from all of the resorts and all of the parks. When you get to WDW, just ask any cast member at the bust stations. It’s their shopping district so I’m sure they will have NO problem making sure you get there! ;)

Hmm, I’ve gotten there from the bus station at MK at least once. Perhaps a cast member can confirm one way or the other. :)

Cutety, DTD is an evoloution of three diffrent areas constructed over the last 30 years. The original area now refered to as the Village Marketplace started it's life as the Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village built in the early 70s after the MK and the Monorail resorts were opened. In the late 80s Pl was opened and connected to the west end of of the Shopping Village then renamed Disneys Village Market place. In the early 90s the West Side was built next to PL and was later refered to as DTD since that is where most of the Night life is for the resort
