I read that article from the St.Petersburg Times, how true it is. It made me feel really bad about the company and how it has seemed to change in the mid 90's from an entertainment company to a company bent on making stock holders happy. It also increased my rage and disgust for Mr.Eisner. Yes I will agree that he did an excellent job turning the company around in the 80's when they were having financial trouble but now Disney's movies and especially theme parks have been taking a backseat in the industry to companies like Universal. It just disgusts me to know how much he makes in a year in bonuses and salary? Then he turns around and fires many excellent cast members who are actually maintaining the magic. I think he should be fired with his jerk executives who would rather be known as an employee then be caught dead being called a cast member. Sorry just had to let that out. LOL

Yeah - I agree, but hey - unfortunatly thats the nature of the buisness world today. It's always gotta be about making money and getting as rich as possible.

I hope that the next generation (of which I am a member of) can turn things around, but the 'old guard' continues to grasp to every little bit of power they can, refusing to allow anyone the chance to step up. Maybe it's greed? Or maybe it's just their fear that the next in line will show everyone just how bad of a job they did at the helm. The other sad part is that many of these 'old guard' members are raising their children in this same attitude/enviroment - teaching them the same ethics they used to get on top.

So unless we can corral all these buisnessmen and thier lackies into a rocket and launch them into the sun we might just have to grin and bare it.

Eisners salary and bonus are approved by the board of directors so you can blame them for his income. Thrill ride parks across the country have had good attendance increases the past few years. These 15 million dollar roller coasters provide a rush that many people are seeking when they go on vacation. They want to be scared and dazzled at the same time. I have said this before, IMO disney needs more thrill rides in the parks or build a seperate thrill ride park. This upcoming generation seems to want more thrills and excitement. Yes, the Magic Kingdom is still magical and the castle at night is beautiful, but it seems to me that people now want more thrills and chills. So they will go elsewhere.

Problem wiht going with alot of thrill rides is that you lose attractions you can ride with a family -- especially those with little kids or people with motion sickness. Disney just needs to find the balance - enough 'thrills' with enough things for families.

Trust me, the next generation isn't all for thrills, it's alot of media hype to show this 'in your face' next generation of kids.

i totally agree star! i myself am not one for thrill rides (and being part of the 'next generation', my voice has a count in this too) i'd MUCH rather ride a nice laid back ride than a 'thrill ride'...now don't get me wrong...i LOVE Space Mountain, Big Thunder, Barnstormer, and Test Track (even though some people don't count that as thrill ride) but they're more than enough excitment for me! the 'family rides' are really the reason i love going to Disney! if all i wanted was thrill rides, hell, i'd go to six flags or something! i'd care nothing about Disney! Walt wanted his parks to be a place where ALL ages could come and enjoy themselves...which HAS to include grandparents, parents, little tykes, people with heart problems, back problems, motion sickness, and any other type of problem you can think of. and has to include pregnant women....even though i doubt i'd go to WDW whilst being pregnant. at least never after 4 months along or so! but that's not the point...point is, not ALL of the 'next generation' are thrill seekers! and if Disney ever became a 'thrill park', they'd probably lose my buisness all together!

try this for facts and figure
EISNER GOT 752 MILLION DOLLARS IN FIVE YEARS!!!!!Count them people. While he could take cuts in payments and keeps the money in the company he take it for himself.
