Where do I begin

Planning my first trip in 20 years to WDW this September (7 nights). I will be with my husband, 5 yo son, 3 yo daughter and my mom (Nana). I am working with a travel agent regarding accomodation (at a Disney Resort), and all of the extras.

Where is the best place to start for planning out our days? There are tons of websites out there, it's quite overwhelming. So, anyone who can guide me...I would be so appreciative!!

If you are going to pick a park to do two days at, definitely choose the Magic Kingdom. And I totally disagree with saving the Magic Kingdom for last! With kids that age, I would do the Magic Kingdom first (heck, we even did the MK first on our trips before we had kids!)! Nothing is more magical than starting your trip off with the MK! You just can't beat stepping out onto Main Street and seeing the castle. Why wait?? Our kids have always had a blast at all of the parks. They have never in the least felt any kind of let down going to the other parks after visiting the Magic Kingdom.

Get there for the opening ceremony...the train comes in with the characters on it and Mickey counts down from 10 to open the park and throws out pixie dust....pure magic!! You'll have tears in your eyes for sure!

If it were me, I'd do the MK on your first full day, then the other three parks, and the MK again on your last day. We ALWAYS start and end all of our trips at the Magic Kingdom!

As far as what to do on your first day, I agree with others....do not waste a park ticket since you will not have a full day. If it were me, I would hang out at your resort for a little while....it is always fun to explore your resort, especially if you've never been there before. Make an early dinner reservation at Chef Mickeys (at the Contemporary Resort). That way the kids can ride the monorail, see the castle from afar, and meet Mickey! What a great way to start a trip.

Another option is to go to Downtown Disney. You could have dinner at the new T-Rex cafe, which the kids would love.
