When using a Park Hopper and more ticket...?

Can you use one of the waterpark days the day before your first day in a park? For example: We arrive at WDW on a Wednesday and want to go to Typhoon Lagoon but weren't planning on going to any theme parks until Thursday. Is this possible or did it also just use one of our theme park days?
Thanks!

Yes. The system knows the difference between park admissions and admissions to the water parks and Disney Quest.

I am assuming you are talking about the Water Park Fun and More option on the Magic Your Way tickets, and not separate water park tickets that you have purchased. If I'm wrong, I apologize.

With the Water Park Fun and More option, those items covered by that option -- the water parks, the miniature golf courses, DisneyQuest, etc. -- are not done as admission days like the theme parks. Rather, you get a certain number of "visits" to them. If you do a 5 day MYW ticket, you also get 5 visits. A 6 day ticket gets you 6 visits. Etc.

Theme park admissions and your visits are totally separate. So if you've got a 5 day ticket, for example, you could technically do 10 days worth of things by doing 5 park days and then 5 days of visiting places like water parks, miniature golf, etc. The system automatically knows the difference when you scan your Magic Band or ticket.

If, however, you visit a theme park and, say, a water park on the same day then, yes, it will use both a park admission day and a visit . But only if you actually go to both. Also, if you go to a water park in the morning and go to a miniature golf course in the afternoon, you will have used two visits, even though it's in the same day.

We had this same question on our last trip in May! @Tom P. put it well, you can go the water park on your first day and not have it take one of your park days. Assuming you have the Water Park Fun and More option.

The only thing I can add to the above posts is that using the ticket to enter any park starts the "14 days from first use" clock running. Something to consider if you're taking a longer trip and might get close to the 14-day mark...
