When to go...... September or October you decide!

Hi Guys, well my last thread was to ask you all which resort to try on our next WDW vacation and its CSR by a magical mile. Now we want to know which time of year would you choose between the beginning of September & the beginning of October, we normally visit in July/August,we love the mega-hot climate but the package prices for UK visitors have soared immensely this year, so now we are looking to visit later in the year at CSR as opposed to PORS where we normally stay but the prices-rise for all rooms since the royal rooms have been introduced are IMO totally unjustified. Hence our decision to change resort & the time of year we visit, which would save us about $1000 on last years package price. Hope you fellow Disney Dreamers can help us decide and tell us in your opinion the pros & cons for each of the said months. Thanks guys.

The beggining of September is usually considerably hotter than early October (which could be a pro or con depending on what you like). If you've never done the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, I would say you book closer to October (I believe they are starting the festival a week early next year around mid-Sept through early Nov).

If you don't mind the heat, go in September. It will be less crowded. We have been the first week of October for the past 3 years and it has been fairly busy, especially at Epcot with Food & Wine Festival. The room rates are lower in September also.

We went in September last year (Sept 7 and then again Sept 12-15) and the lines were pretty much non-existant. We got to Epcot at 4pm on the 7th and they still had Soarin FP available for 6:30pm! Not that you can get paper FP now, but that just shows how low the crowds were. One day we walked right onto SPlash Mountain at the hottest point of the day. If you don't mind early closing time or have more than 1 day at MK, go on a day where there's a Halloween party. Most people without park hopper options tend to steer clear because of the 7pm closing time but we found this was the BEST day we have ever had in the parks as far as wait times.

I have been there in September last 2 weeks and October last 2 weeks and I would have to say 1. September is defiantly warmer , there were 2 days in October I had to buy a hoodie 2) I felt crowds were lighter in October ( except Halloween it was BUSY) 3) There are no Love bugs in October and I see them often in Sept I personally am going this September but I like October better

I would recommend October especially if you would like the Food and Wne Festival. Always our favorite time to go with Food and Wine going on!

honestly I ALWAYS go within the first 2 weeks of November, the Christmas lights are up, the crowds from mnsshp are gone, and the holiday crowds have yet to arrive. the weather is a steady mid-high 70's and its usually less crowded.
this year im going November 4th-11th.

Last year, I did both: Late September - Early October. September 29 - October 5.

It was a great time to go. Comfortable weather. Smaller crowds. MNSSHP. Epcot F&W Festival.

If you like the heat, go for September. Food & Wine is starting earlier this year (the 19th of Sept), MNSSHP starts relatively early, and from our experiences in Sept- the crowds are light.

Thanks HouCuseChickie, we do like it hot, being from the UK we don't see very much of the sun so the hotter the better for us but July/August when we normally visit WDW has gone really expensive that's why we're thinking of going later in the year on our next visit. Late Sept/early Oct still seems to be quite hot...it will still be hotter in Florida than here in the UK no matter what time of year we visit And there's the Food & Wine and MSSSHP of course at that time of year.So it all seems good for then.

I lived in FL for a while and now live in TX...and September really doesn't feel much different than August IMO- weather-wise. I'm not sure if they're going to tweak the pricing b/c of the change to the F&W dates or if the pricing is different on the UK side, but we cashed in on the cheaper pricing in September last year. The only things that bothered me a bit with September...1. the hours weren't as long you'd find in the summer 2. I think there were more things closed for refurb 3. the crane was onsite doing the dreamlight installation.
