Well, I am finally going to go during the offseason! Almost every trip we have made has been at X-mas Spring break etc. So I don't have much experience with offseason times. I was thinking anytime from Late Sept to mid Nov. We are looking for 5 nights with low crowds and free dining. We are really looking forard to a slower pace and a chance to take it all in. Any advice you can give would be great!
Cheers

You picked a good time. There really isn't an "off" season any longer, but it will almost certainly be less crowded than your other trips.

I can't really advise any special days in there. Just pick whenever you want to go! :)

Thanks , I have read about Food and wine Jersey week, etc so I am hoping to miss that type of thing. I know there is always something going on. 10-20 min waits are fine with me. Compared to when I normaly go anything should be better. I just figure with a large travel window I should be able to get somthing ideal.

We went last year on Ocotber 17 for a week it was awesome! It was slightly cooler than we would have liked but we were still in shorts and t shirts! Crowds were low everywhere even at epcot where the food and wine festival was going on! (seemingly the weekends are very busy though with locals!) If you like food and you like alcohol its a must, you can get a food and wine passport to! And it is kid freindly to, we didnt see anyone causing trouble due to alcohol!

Magic kingdom had started the Mickeys Halloween party which was awesome but costs extra to go and operates on select nights. Were more or less going the same time this year and i realised that because of the halloween party MK closes early quite a lot of the time (7pm) so if you want to see the fireworks pick a day it doesnt close at 7! The party was fun but i think we will just do it every like 5 years or something!

Animal Kingdom was pretty empty we finally got to see festival of the lion king without having to queue for like an hour! And now that i have seen it i probs would queue for an hour it was amazing (and we were just two adults!).

DHS well, i can never really tell crowd levels their it just seemed the same!

Theres also The PGA golf thing on if you like golf (i just realised this not that long ago even seeing it last year never clicked it happened every year at WDW so we couldnt get into our preffered hotel!).

All in all i would say the start of October is an awesome time to go it was very quiet! Hope that helps!

We generally go in mid September and we like it. Low crowds(normally), Halloween parties, and Free Dining. it is very hot still, but we're used to it.

We love Food and Wine. Honestly there are crowds meandering through world showcase but other than that the wait times are not bad and the crowd levels only seem to be effected slightly at Epcot and do not spill over to the other parks. The first week in November is nice too but when we went we ran into some unseasonably cold weather which bummed us out as we were in sweatshirts and not in the pool. I am told that was a fluke though.

In 2008 my family did the Food and Wine "Jersey week" the first week of November and we loved it! but I think we are biased being from New Jersey. It was fun to meet so many nice people from different parts of our state. NJ doesn't exactly have the best reputation as far as states go though, so there is probably a growing list of people that will avoid WDW that week.

I do not recall lines being longer than usual, definitely shorter than a July trip we did the year before.

Food and Wine is nice if you want to eat and drink around the world.

You will also need to fill out an absentee ballot if you vote but plan on being there during Election week.
