When Is the Best Off Season Time To Visit?

We usually visit Disney world in mid oct but this time would like to go earlier, like sept. My kids want to stay at the Nick hotel but the prices seem higher then last year when we went in Oct. Last year I believe it was $127 per night in early oct and this year in sept it's $164 per night. so is this off peak time or prices were just raised? Also is sept off peak time for Disney tickets as well? thanks

I can't speak to the Nick Hotel, but the Ticket prices at WDW are a set price. They are not based on the "season". The Resort rooms can fluctuate with the dates being booked, but not tickets.

There is no off season for Disney, instead is either crowded, really crowed and crushingly crowded. I think October can be in the crowded to really crowded stage, especially as you get closer to Columbus day.

IMO, September is the worst time of year to visit in terms of weather. Summer is hot, but it's summer so whatever. When it's September and the days are 65-75 degrees at home and you fly to Orlando where it's still 90, that's oppressive.

We've made a number of trips in mid-late September and always had a great time. Older kids are back to school all around the country so it's mostly just couples or families with wee ones. I don't believe I ever saw a wait time longer than 60 minutes during a weekday visit (unless technical difficulties were factored in). Still very warm and humid. The decrease in foot traffic made it easier and much more pleasant when we used strollers for our kids.

Not certain about the prices @ Nick during this time but we've stayed there twice and it was nice. The 4D movies are a must do. It's also located pretty close to an entrance way for wdw property too.

We went in September for our last trip and are going in September again this year. I loved it! It is hot - that is true. The crowds are much lower and I do not recall having to wait for very long in any lines. It was very stress free because of the low crowd volume. The parks do close earlier but you still have enough time to accomplish what you want because of the low crowds. It is still warm enough to visit the water parks and/or take advantage of the resort pools too. This is all just my experience and opinion though :)

We always go during the winter to escape the snow. Used to always go in March, but last year it was late January and this year it'll be late January/early February. Crowds then are very manageable and the weather last year was perfect.
