When HM re-opens.....

Howdy folks!

I know HM is slated to re-open Sept 12. I will be visiting MK Sept 17th. I am wondering whether I will have a long wait to get in HM. After an E-Ticket opens after a major refurb does it always have horrendous lines for weeks after? On that day I have to check into the resort (Poly) first before heading out to MK. Once inside should I race straight to HM and get a fastpass? Will that be a good idea, or unnessecary?

Bump... I was hoping that by bumping this on a saturday fternoon, I might get some reaction. I really want to know what has been the "history" regarding long lines and e-ticket openings and re-openings. Do extra long lines last for weeks? Or just a day or two? Would it be smart to head straight for HM and get a fast pass after entering the part on Sept 17, or if I do my usual "clockwise rotation" touring plan, could I grab a fastpass, maybe ride IASW, then get back for my fastpass time? Or does everyone think I would encounter fastpass times of three hours and huge stand-by line waits? What is the consensus on this? ANYONE? :lookaroun

I have never been to an attraction after it has been reopened after it has been down for a rehab. This September will be my first. We will be there 5 days after the ride has reopened(if it stays on schedule). I am sure there will be some lines for the HM. It has always been my experience with the HM that the line moves very fast. I really dont know how many people it can put through in an hour but I have a feeling that number is very high. I am not worried about long lines for this attraction.

Last summer, I rode POTC about 10 days after the ride re-opened--- which means it was only a week or two after the second movie came out, and the lines were not bad at ALL. HM lines are never really all THAT bad, and I'm sure all of the casual Disney-goers won't ever even know it was closed! Besides, the HM lines are never too terrible anyway. You should be fine.

Thanks for the re-assurance Ravenclaw. It seems reasonable that if POTC didnt have bad lines then HM won't either. Question for All: Did anyone here experience bad wait times on POTC in the days immediately after it re-opened?
