I'm considering a trip 2/2-2/6 (Sunday-Thursday)
Superbowl is 2/2.
I'm trying to avoid MK on the day they go (unless its my team lol) but which day do they generally go Monday? Tuesday? Wednesday?...

It will be based on their schedules and could be any of those days. It’s not normally known until after the game. Especially since sometimes they go to Disneyland instead.

The day after the Superbowl is the MK parade for the Super Bowl MVP. The parade is not for the entire winning team. The MVP of the winning team has gone to MK except one year, MVP winner Ray Lewis who was facing a murder charge. Not good PR for Disney. Trent Dilfer went instead. The winning team usually gets invited to the White House but you know how that goes when some go and some protest and not go.

I've gone the past few years around this time. While it does get busy on the day of the game you have to also remember where they are holding the game..This year it's in Miami so be prepared for a larger turnout due to this as families might take said advantage of staying on property or in the Orlando vicinity to head to the parks and the game in the mix....When I went in 2018 the day of the game. MK was empty and I went for Dinner at Cosmic Rays finding no one in there eating besides myself and the wait times were fairly decent at around 15mins...And the following day is the day you steer clear of MK even if it's for just the MVP's of the game since everyone goes there due to this..

I was there a few years back on Super Bowl Sunday when the Packers won. Aaron Rodgers was there the next day.

I didn't know that about Lewis. Yeah, that was happening right around that time. Trent Dilfer was the QB, although historically not known as a great QB who won the Super Bowl.

I often wonder how often the Super Bowl MVP is in great shape on that Monday. You play a game at 6pm, you win, you possibly have a lot to drink, you are up half the night and then you are required (?) to get on a plane to fly to Florida to be part of the parade. How many of them honestly just wanted to spend more time with their teammates celebrating?

Either way, I think Phil Simms is the first one to utter this. It was 1987, and it was planned that either he or John Elway say this depending on who won the game. He got paid $75,000 for it. It is said that Michael Eisner's wife is the one who implemented it.

Point of order: He was NOT facing a murder charge. Somebody in his party was facing a murder charge for acting in self defense when their party was attacked. Ray Lewis was shaken down and plead to a minor misdemeanor charge when he didn't really have to (obstruction of justice for helping his friend), but that was all in the rearview mirror by the time it got to the SB. Racists in the media typically portray black athletes in the worst light possible, so of course many racists found Ray guilty without knowing anything about the story.

As far as the SB MVP is concerned, it is a pretty hectic week. They have their obligations at Disney World, their cities SB parade, and many talk shows they have to go on. Compared to a grueling week of practice in the NFL, just getting in planes and traveling isn't that bad. The MVP doesn't really do much at Disney, they just sit for the parade and make an appearance, they don't really do the rides or experiences.

They have 7 months before another game, so they have a lot of free time on their hands, I wouldn't feel too bad for them.

Lewis had some good lawyers and thug friends willing to protect him. Murder charges were dropped for the thug LB in exchange of him testifying against his buddies that were also at the murder scene. End result was both of his buddies were acquitted ( they claimed self defense) and no one was arrested for the stabbing deaths of the 2 that died. And the white suit that Lewis was wearing the night of the murders was never found. How very fishy..Knife found at scene wiped of fingerprints. Makes you go 😒😒😒..

Yeah, I was around at that time, this was not the best time for the NFL. Ray Carruth was found guilty right around this time for plotting to kill his pregnant girlfriend (she died, but the baby didn't although was born with development issues). So Lewis wasn't thought of as guilty because he was black per se, the whole case was mysterious. I don't personally think Lewis did anything more than perhaps helped his friends. However, it was possibly helping them get off for murder. It wasn't the best time image wise for the NFL. I can totally understand how they didn't have Lewis come. I am sure there wasn't a lot of thought about it prior to the game. You've got 60 guys on two different teams that can win the MVP, I am sure there wasn't any panic to think it might be Lewis. I just wonder what happened right after they announced it. There must have been some quick thinking and on the spot decisions.

To be fair, I think Lewis has been treated quite well over his career and post-career despite the accusations against him. He had a Hall of Fame career and this barely gets mentioned about him.

They really never go as a whole team sometimes certain players plus their families just go the very next day and they put them in one of the parades. so your best bet to see anyone is the day after the super bowl.

Guys who commit crimes like that usually wind up repeating them again. Ray Lewis has been a model citizen and mentors players across the league. Its just an example of white boys who want to hate on an African American who makes something of himself through hard work and dedication. Absolutely pathetic racism if you ask me.

People have short term memory on events. WDW didn't want no part in Lewis in the MVP parade so Dilfer who was just an average QB went instead to MK.

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
It was Feb 4 (Monday) about 2:30ish when they started the parade this year. I was there totally oblivious to the fact they would actually be at WDW (especially the very next day after the game) and just happened to be heading toward Splash Mountain when they were coming by. Here’s a couple of pics of Tom Brady trying to get my attention ;), Edelman (MVP) is in the background.

I don’t recall the crowds being all that different than other days (just more people wearing jerseys), but I can’t predict how much being in Miami will affect things this year (although, it’s not like Atlanta is all that far away either, about 5 hrs compared to 3ish from Miami).

[Edit: Looking back at my notes, if anything the crowds were particularly easy to deal with this year the day after the Super Bowl, between a PPO breakfast at BOG and 9:15PM, I was able to ride 7DMT 3x (one FP); Space Mt 5x (one FP); PotC 2x; Splash Mt 2x; BTMRR 2x; Philharmagic; Buzz Lightyear; Astro Orbiter; Carousel of Progress; PeopleMover; Magic Carpets; Winnie the Pooh; Little Mermaid; Small World; Riverboat; Jungle Cruise; Tiki Room; Swiss Family Treehouse; Dumbo; and Haunted Mansion. Bonus FP’s after the first three were pretty easy to get on most everything except the top three or four rides, even so, even Space Mountain had low waits the first and last 1.5ish hours of the day, I rode it four times between 9:15-10:15]
