When do you order Photopass?

Planning our trip for September and I am wondering when to order photopass? Should we do photopass plus? I don't plan on doing the attractions as we have a 5yr old and 1 year old with us so most if not all of the attraction rides are a little to wild.

I believe the smartest/cost effective way is to order is BEFORE you go on your trip. Maybe like a week before. If you wait until before/after your trip, it will be more expensive.

Our trip is June 7 and we just ordered it today So very excited. We went with photopass +. We are taking a first timer with us(daughter's friend). And we are celebrating our daughter's 16th bday, so we figure it will be a good thing for our daughter's friend to have. And they plan on going off on their own a couple of times, so it will be nice to have pics of them alone and on some of the rides.

We ordered ours last night for our Oct trip. A little early, but the preorder price was better than last years, so we figured why not?

Do you plan on doing character dining? And do you want the staged photo op picture they take out front? If you aren't, or don't want the photo, then I wouldn't do PhotoPass+, since you don't sound like you will be doing any of the rides. Personally the stock photo CD isn't worth it. It's a nice freebie if you do the PP+, but not worth buying on its own.

Outside of that, you would want to preorder the PhotoCD any point prior to the first picture being taken. The preorder will include copies of any non-expired picture associated with the account, after the preorder was made.

The other gotcha is that I believe currently they will only do a refund for 3 months after PhotoCD preorder. With the PhotoCD preorder (not the PP+ pre buy) if you get back from your trip and didn't think you got enough pictures taken, or didn't like the pictures, as long as you don't use the credit to buy the actual CD, they will refund your preorder cost. But if you preordered more than 3 months prior, they won't.

So if you are traveling in Sept, I'd order in August. That way you know you did it. Just keep checking for any posts about an increase in price, or something similar so you don't get caught paying more than you needed.

You need to order it way before a week ahead of time! They need to send the CD & your voucher to your house. I would pre-order it at least a month before. I would also only order Photopass+ if you are going to do the character meals in which the photos would be included and/or the ride photos. Otherwise ,I would just order the Photopass.

This is only if the OP wants the PhotoPass+. They look for 14 days advance order.

And you cannot order the PhotoPass. PhotoPass is the name of the service. PhotoCD is the product where you get a copy of all your pictures in your account.

I have a question. When you order the photopass + is the photo cd included? I have read some posts that say when you get home you can order it, but I don't know if that means you have to pay another fee to get the cd. Any help would be great. Thanks

When we did Photopass+ last year (Dec 2012 trip), a copy of the photo CD was included. The Photopass+ package included a voucher w/code for a free photo CD. When we arrived home, my wife took a bunch of the photos, added borders, etc. and they were included in the photo CD.

Photopass+ was the best money we spent during our last trip. We simply won't do another WDW trip without it.
