When do you buy your MNSSHP tickets?

I've seen the sellout dates from past years and they seem to be kind of random. DH and I have just booked a last minute trip and definitely want to go to the party (10/2), but we're wondering how soon we should get our tickets. Do you get yours way in advance or wait as long as you can? Thanks for sharing!

ASAP! Usually the days that do sell out are the ones closer to Halloween or weekends but you just never know. I would purchase now if you have the funds to. :)

My rule of thumb for everything to do with Disney is to book anything important as soon as I possibly can. You just never know if there will be some kind of freak crowd change that sells something out. If you definitely know you want to go on 10/2 and you have the funds available now, get the tickets now. Your tickets will be locked in and you won't have to worry about it anymore. There's no reason to wait if you're sure you want to go.

We have waited until the day of a party and booked and waited too long and missed out out once. I think as soon as you know for sure what day you want to go, buy the tickets. We were very disappointed the time we arrived one day early, planned on going to a party but ended up not getting tickets. The next year we did the same thing, booked early and decided last minute to add a party our last night there and got lucky. Crap shoot really but I lean now towards planning in advance and knowing I am getting to go when I want.

I'm going on 10/2 and already got my ticket - only b/c I wanted the regular type plastic ticket instead of printing out the ticket this time. And at some point it's going to be too late for them to send one.

Oh, that's true! I guess I should go get them... now!

I hate to give my money away until I have to. just like having it myself
but I usually purchase about 3-4 weeks ahead so that I am sure they arrive before we depart for the trip, and if something went wrong, have time to fix it.
so, yes, it is now time for you to buy yours- IMHO- and I'm always right you know!! ;)

I say if you're sure you want to go, book it as soon as they are available. I bought my party tickets to both MNSSHP and MVMCP on the day they went on sale. Overzealous maybe, but I rather commit to going in that specific day than to find out they are gone, like the tickets to the party on October 31st are.

Far enough in advance so that if there is a discount available, I will receive it. Learned that the first night of MNSSHP when I bought on the spur of the moment at 3:00PM and thus wasn't eligible for any of the discounted prices. Nothing like paying full Disney prices when you shouldn't have to because you forgot to plan. I blame those dang Halloween Limited Edition Magic Bands - and the $60 my daughter slipped me to buy two for her.....

Last year, we bought ours shortly before the 60 day mark since I heard it would get us an extra FP+ entitlement during testing. Not sure if the same is true this year, but that's how we planned it last time. And maybe I'm not remembering this correctly, but last year, I could have sworn it was cheaper to buy them in advance. It only seems like the nights around Halloween are what sell out, so I really wasn't concerned about that.
