When did WED Become WDI???

I'm doing a project on WDI, and I'm having trouble finding out when and why WED enterprises became WDI.. Does anyone know???

From what I recall...Disney was getting more calls for WEDding preparations than Imagineering so they changed it to WDI instead. I don't recall when they changed it though?
