When are we going to see new concept art?

There is a lot of construction going on and toontown is about to go bye bye... Anyone know when we can expect new concept art? Especially since there have been changes.

I'm going to guess around the time Toontown begins to get demolished. From what I read in these forums is that the Snow White Mine Ride isn't complete in the design yet and I'm sure Disney isn't going to release something that might change yet again. I'm hoping by February they'll have the final plans set in stone and we'll see some new concept art and a final on whats getting built.

I sure hope so. I too have been greatly looking forward to any artwork showing off the concepts further in depth, as well as ANYTHING pertaining to this mine ride.

I think it may be before that. When angry visitors come to Guest Relations complaning because TTF is gone, they'll want to be able to show them that there's going to be something better there that's worth the closure.

I imagine the announcement will happen on the Disney Parks Blog, much like the way Hyperion Wharf was announced. The only difference is this may be tied to the "future" area of One Man's Dream, so we may get a couple of days advance notice. I'm hoping we hear something in early January (although i'm hoping the holdup is because we'll get something new that we haven't heard about yet. I'm hating the idea of "circusland").

I don't particularly like Circusland, either, but can anyone think of where else the iconic Dumbos would fit thematically and in terms of space once they become dueling Dumbos?

Course, I could have seen them in just a newly overhauled Toontown that is clean and shiny and new.

Good point, it is the only theme really to go with Dumbo when you put it that way. However there are plenty of other and more popular great things they could have given a whole area over too instead of Dumbo.

Does dumbo really NEED its own mini-land? i mean how long has it sat in the middle of fantasyland? i just feel like they could do more with the space then to create a whole themed area around just a spinner ride. but im sure whatever they build will be cool, more interesting than TTF anyway :p

I think the whole idea around is that its one of Disney's most classic and beloved rides to many. It's one of the rides that people ride on their first visit to WDW. Since the ride (in my opinion) always has a long wait time why not expand the ride and make it amazing. Why not make Dumbo bigger and better like the classic movie was. Just like Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain is getting an updated queue. All the classic rides are going to get reworked. This is all my opinion. lol.

YEAH! I don't get it. Just give us Pixie Hollow with the rumored Dark Ride.

Anyways, keeping ON TOPIC, I was really disappointed there was no mention at all of the FLE on today's broadcast of the Christmas parade... They mentioned the additions to DCA, the new cruise ship, the DVC in Hawaii... but nothing of WDW...

So, the waiting continues...

^ part of that may be due in part because as of now, they are not fully certain what they're doing with a giant chunk of it the expansion

Nah to Pixie Hollow... The idea was to make this LESS girlish not more... Give us, hmmm... Festival of Fools area with the circus theme and bring back the Hunchback stage show!!!!

A man can dream, can't he?

While that is true, they could have still shown more updated concept art of what we already know is being constructed, like they did with Carsland...

They have plenty of art and models that they could show.
But...it makes some sense to sit on it until next year, when it'll be closer to completion.

Like said earlier, they shouldn't mention anything before it isn't mostly final. At the D23 Expo in '09, the FLE was announced before it even was final for announcement.

I expect more news when Toontown closes and it will give something to please for the time being.

I wasn't expecting anything particularly new in the Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade, but they didn't even mention it--ugh...

There was a point where they did a flying view over fantasyland and I was hoping they would do a quick fly over of FLE but sadly they have an amazing Camra Operator and the shot always stayed just outside of the constuction site. I kept waving at the TV trying to make it go just a little further lol

But i guess when you do a giant 2 hour commerical for Disney Parks you kind of don't want potential guests to see a bunch of steel work and contruction equipment lol

Do you think disney is going to get rid of that much retail space?

They're getting rid of Cornelius Coot's County Bounty, which is a huge retail location. I have to assume that the interactive Dumbo queue (or at the very least, the surrounding area) will have quite a bit of merchandise.

Are you sure County Bounty is leaving?;)
I'm not. The name may go, but they aren't cutting that major retail location entirely.
Also, there will be no merch in the Dumbo queue.
