There comes a time in any companies lifetime where it meets a speed bump. The Disney Renaissance is long gone and from the looks of it probably wont be coming back for a long time. How ever 98% of corporate America is finding it's self in the same situation. For companies like Coca-Cola and Pepsi a simple drink that reaches 99% of the Global Population simply isn't enough anymore. For TWDC they have tried to search for a movie or brand to make them profitable. Frozen seemed like that brand. Luckily it has been but it will eventually be a fad from a distant studio in Burbank. As for the parks the management sucks. No fortune 500 company is using the Japanese Six Sigma and Kaisan principles of management anymore. Competition from Six Flags and Universal mean that the most brilliant young engineering students from the top schools have better choices than just working at Disney. That's why the consumer isn't impressed by a simple retro fit or refurb. They want bigger bolder items. No doubt Disney has seen this. But it all goes back to poor managing and the ideals that if we don't have to spend the money, we can half the project and get away with it. Now I know this sounds like a pessimist. But as a Shareholder and Employee in Burbank, I have gotten tired of reading the comments of people on all of these forums talking about how they either miss an attraction or want to see something that blows them off the face of the earth. Sure the management is not the same it was 10-20 years ago. But have faith that this current generation, my generation wants to make this company great again. We want to make American businesses the best again. And no one wants to see Disney stray from the joyous land we all grew up with.
