What's Up with Pop Century?

Um...It's been too long, when is Pop Century going to open? It was going to open in sections, is that still going to happen? I was there in July, parts looked pretty done, it's now January, and still no word...What's up? Well, will it be done by June when I go back again?

not busy enough at the World to open a 5760 room Resort, so...it's not open Look at it this way, it was to originally open in sections, so that you would be sleeping in a construction site. Now, when it opens, all 20 buildings will be complete. It'll look nicer. No one knows WHEN it will open, but I would like to think sometime this year...

That's what I figured as well, but I do hope it opens soon, I love the Lady and the Tramp and the Mowgli buildings!

They originally stopped construction when they delayed the opening. They have now started working again...which means that the resort will probably open as a whole and not in pieces like originally planned.

I can almost assure you that the hotel will not open as a whole. It's to much of a drain on resources. Between training new CM's and dealing with the unexpected events that always happen during the first few days of any new venture it would require to massive amounts of man power. On top of all of this if they sold out the first night they would have to check in 5760 in one day. IMPOSSIBLE That would be 2630 per hotel and each Front desk has only 30 computers. All Stars have severe trouble checking in just 900 on a busy day but we have handled 1200. No one enjoys an hour long wait to check in.

well they wouldn;t open as a whole but it could be completed as a whole and only allow certain buildings to be open.

I meant the resort would be done when it opens...not a mud pit like it would have been had it opened in Dec. 2001 as originally planned. The Classic Years section is now done as they begin work on the Legendary Years.

I belive POP Century is featured in this summers Airtours holiday brochure... it says something along the lines of "taking booking for Summer '03". I can't see it opening myself. I assume that when someone wants to book one of these holidays they are told it is unavailable, or if they manage to book it they will be moved to the All Stars or upgraded.

Surely it will open some day. I do think it will look better to be completed even if they only book sections at a time. I would like to stay there in Dec. 2004. It better be open by then for crying out loud. :fork: :lol:
