What's Up With Club Cool?

My family went to Disney World last week.
I was really looking forward to drinking some of the watermelon soda at club Cool.
We walked in only to discover half the flavors weren't available.
We ask a castmember and was told they have been out for over a month.
It seems to me from production to Arriving at Disney World shouldn't take a month.
Does anyone (Especially those of you who are EPCOT castmembers) know whats up with this?

I was there last week, and every flavor was working, especially Mezzo mix

I was there today, they were completely out of the Watermelon Soda from China, and they were limited availability on a couple of other flavors. Mezzo Mix was flowing freely, thankfully... and of course Beverly was available :lookaroun

Really, to be honest, May was my first time at club cool. I saw a video of the original Ice station cool (I had just strolled right past it on every trip, until I heard they were changing it) So I figured I'd check it out. I did notice some soda dispensers were not working, but I was under the impression they only had (bear with me) Beverly (Italy), MezzoMix (Germany), some lime soda, and a ginger ale soda. I guess I missed out on the other sodas. Oh well, I'll try them next time I'm there

We were there the first week in April and there were only a few flavors available, 1 being Beverly :hurl:

We were all very bummed not to be able to get any watermelon soda from China

Is Coca Cola still the official sponsor of this location now called Club Cool? I was wondering if all of the soda provided for this was soda provided by Coke that they distributed to the countries represented at Club Cool? If this is the way it comes to Epcot through Coke, then they are the ones dropping the ball on not getting all of the flavors back in stock not Disney. Just wondering....

I agree with the person who expressed dissatisfaction with Club Cool. The free soda is fun, but the theming is awful. I don't know if Ice Station Cool ever really fit in very well with the rest of Epcot, but it blasted cold air at you as you went inside; it felt like a much-needed escape from the Florida heat and humidity. This new version doesn't even try to hide the fact that it is first and foremost, the corporate sponsor's gift shop.

Yup, it's still very much sponsored by Coke.

As a former ISC CM, I can tell you that they don't always plan well in stocking us...when we do run out of a flavor, it can (and does) take months to get new ones in. Not sure why, really, that's just the way it goes *shrug*

This was my first visit to the Station since it was remodeled. I was disappointed. Ther were 4 flavors and none of the good ones we all know and love. Besides CM's, there were like 3 people in there. I agree with an earlier post, I loved the cool cave thingy that was so colda great escape from the heat. visited from 4/22-4/28.

I wasn't talking about the free soda part, I was talking about how past attractions at Epcot were changed for the worst (ie: Horizons, WoM, JII, TLS)

Yes. Shame the powers that be for deciding to make EPCOT a park that people might actually want attend, and take their children with.

EPCOT was known as the "oh, we're not going to EPCOT because we have children" park for a reason.

Of course, Mission: Space is not child friendly, but I'll glady take a Nemo themed Living Seas over what used to be there. Turtle Talk with Crush is the highest rated show on Disney Property (just overtook Festival of the Lion King). Clearly an upgrade from the (lol in advance) Hydrolaters.

Test Track remains one of the most popular attractions in Disney World.

I harumph to those decision makers for actually wanting to improve the park.

I'm going to get down from my soap box, and go take a shot of Beverly

*side note: don't worry, I won't try and defend the new version of Journey into Imagination....that is a disaster.

Epcot was build for Families, not just for children...

That stuff was good! It gave me the sugar rush I needed to get through the day.

BTW, I love the "Appliance Direct" avatar.

We're bombarded with those commercials down here in Naples, FL

As for it being a park that kids like...my sister and I loved the park in the 80's and we were in our early childhood ages, so you can't say that all children did not like the original EPCOT.

The problem with people today is they just don't care for the true meaning of things...they are just looking for a quick cheap thrill. Maybe parents today should try to instill some ideals of the real Disney history.

So let's go ahead and turn EPCOT into the next MK, that really separates one park from another in originality.

And one of the most frequent to break down, that's tons of fun for all those children waiting in line.

Obviously you live for the moment and not the true meaning of EPCOT...or the closest thing to the true meaning of EPCOT.

Glad to see we agree on something.

You make some very valid points, but I guess we just agree to disagree. I certainly understand your argument that EPCOT's original theme/purpose was sacrificed somewhat for the new attractions. However, at some point, if the product isn't as appealing (whether it be due to impatient children, lack of thrills, etc.) a change has to be made to make the park appealing.

Walt always wanted to have an attraction that would simulate space flight realistically. He would be very proud of Mission: Space, even if it has turned into a survival of the fittest attraction. And Test Track is more complex than any other attraction on property, with as much computer power on each car as the Magic Kingdom, so I suppose that's the technology tie-in. Plus it goes fast and makes people say "whee"
