what's the best you have to offer?

I don't think I've ever posted anywhere on the wdwmagic.com boards here, but signed up quite awhile ago to view attachments.

I just spent a bit of time reading over this forum, and I was wondering if someone could point me to the best it has to offer as far as independent, unique ride development and concept work is concerned.

I'm interested in seeing concept art, particularly, or detailed treatments. Simple bulleted lists don't really impress me or interest me.

I used to sketch out a lot of ideas and things when I was a bit younger, but life got hectic and that got left behind. Only recently have I begun trying to assemble a portfolio of work and I'm just now looking for more inspiration and trying to set the bar a little higher for myself.

Thanks.

Hi Maddie, I just now noticed this topic. Sorry for my late reply.

I have done much Imagineering work myself, mind you, I'm not a real Imagineer. If you search the Imagineering board for these topics you'll find renderings, scripts, and possibly more.

- Nine Worlds (my first real posted idea here)
- The Down Under Resort (my big Disney Resort which is sortof on hold)
- Blazing Rhythms (which I retracted from the idea thread due to others accusing me of stealing).

So, me and FigmentDream are your best bets if you want to see what Imagineering is really about. AIM me and I might send you some other work I haven't posted if you're interested. - The WeirdOne :D

Thanks for replying. :) I'm looking into what you suggested.

I asked, really, because I used to spend a lot of time *writing* about attraction ideas that became these long, verbose, novel-like things but didn't do a very good job at conveying visual images. My art skills were crappy, at best, and it frustrated me.

I've been spending a lot of time lately drawing and am ready to take my work into new directions. So much of my work is inspired by other people's styles that it was only natural that I look toward other people with similar interests to try to find out what more I could do.

I don't have anything that's near presentable right now; just a series of pencil sketches and other drawings without context. If there's interest, maybe I'll share them for feedback.

I do the same thing, except I blend my novels with pictures so people stay interested and have more critism. Sometimes I never get around to posting pictures. PLease post some of your work, mine are always simple paint line diagrams with labels. - The WeirdOne :D

Entirely out of context.

Here's a mostly-finished drawing. It's a storyboard from something I developed about two years ago.

It's a pencil sketch that I then photographed digitally (I don't have a scanner) and colored and shaded in Macromedia Fireworks.

Criticism is appreciated.

Sketch

That's a good sketch, but what is it for?

What is the story, attraction...so on?

Not much can be said about a single panel with no other information......

Here is a project I did for SOJI it is called WeatherWorks a serries of interactive Labs for the Weather Pavillion we desinged. Just do a search for posts by me and you can find some of my other work, I preety much only post in the Imagineering forum so it should not be that hard to find

Well, I've been focusing intently on improving my artistic technique - the technical parts of my art - moreso than I have been interested in developing entire concepts. So, if I get an image in my head for a particular scene or location, I sketch it without giving much thought to its context.

That board comes from something that I did develop considerably, however, but I'd have to search around a bit to find all of the original work I did and, likely, have to to retype it.

In short, it's from an idea I called "Talespin: Aerial Tours," and this represents an early-ride encounter between the SeaDuck (the guests POV) and a commercial aircraft.
