What's the best DLR resort for honeymooners?

Paradise Pier is OK but a bit of a stroll away and feels like a Holiday Inn re-themed to Disney. I never felt like a part of the magic there. The Disneyland Hotel would be my choice for families as it has a great new pool area and is very classic Disney in a lot of ways and it's next door to Downtown Disney. Far and away the best choice of them all for newlyweds (assuming you want to stay at a DLR hotel) is The Grand Californian. It's in California Adventure, has very nice places to dine and a nice lounge. It also enters into either the park- Calif. Adventure and Downtown Disney. The decor is much more "romantic" than the other two hotels which are both a little cold in comparison. It's the closest thing to a WDW resort, especially Wilderness Lodge. Check-in was a little slow and you'll really need reservations at the dining establishments which are very, very nice. I've been to all three and never stayed off-site so I can't speak to others in the area. Congrats!

We really enjoyed Paradise Pier. Had a theme park view room and watched World of Color (with audio from the TV) every night! So cool to watch the show from above. The room was recently refurbished too. Found the hotel to be very convenient (especially to DCA) and would stay there again. (We have also stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and Grand Californian.)

POFQ is my favorite resort at the moment...I'm thinking Grand Californian. Haven't been to DLR since i was 6 and have been to WDW hundreds of times. Very excited to see the differences

The Grand Californian is beautiful, no doubt...think of it as a cross between WL for theming and architecture and GF for "flagship" amenities...but it is very expensive. Our theme park view room at Paradise Pier was a couple hundred dollars a night less than a standard view at the Grand. We were there in March.

We were very surprised to discover that we actually preferred California Adventure over Disneyland!
