What's new at the Contemporary Resort?

The last time we stayed there was in July of 2000. Since then, we've been staying at POFQ, which I love. But, I've been waiting until we could afford to stay in the Tower with MK view again, and it looks like this Dec. will be it!! I know it's been remodeled since then. Just wondering what's new. Thanks!

You can see photos of the remodeled rooms at various sites - I think allears.com and others have them. I believe they just updated the rooms and the pool. They are in the middle of a refurb of the Garden Grill and entire top floor right now.

I am not sure on the timing, but they moved the arcade from the lower level to the 4th floor concourse and the lower level now has a restaurant called the Wave. CA grill on the top floor is getting a complete refurb to be done this summer. The biggest change is probably Bay Lake Tower. One of the Garden Wings is gone, replaced with a DVC resort. The rooms all got redone some time in the last 10 years too. Should look quite different than your last stay, but the monorail still runs through the loby and the location and views of MK are still the same:).

Agree with prior posts but would add that I think the Concourse Steak was still there in 2000, now gone and replaced with Contempo Grill to replace the first floor food court (now Wave restaurant). Concourse shops now take up all the room on the concourse (4th floor, former pin trading and wide open spaces) and the arcade, as previously mentioned, is on the concourse as well. Chef Mickey's still where it was and most everything else still the same. Tower MK view is a great way to start and end each day.

Thanks! On our very first trip to WDW in 1999 we stayed in the tower with MK view, and that's when I fell in love with the castle and the MK! My favorite memory is sitting on our balcony early in the morning while the kids were still sleeping, eating a bagel, and looking out over the MK and Seven Seas Lagoon. Heaven! And the fact that the MK is a quick walk away - no waiting on buses or monorail - bonus!! Can't wait to get back there!
