Pippi Longstockings please!! After that, could you please post a pic of how you looked? ;) :)

I look forward for "halloween" here because of the special food we eat on nov.1st and 2nd.
Halloween is an american celebration that sadly, is crossing the borders and making people forget about our own traditions. Please, don´t take me wrong, I respect traditions and I would love to keep the mexican ones alive, but the media and the marketing and a lack of interest from teachers and parents, are making the mexican kids celebrate Halloween now instead of "All Saints and Day of the Deads" traditions.

Good thing we still eat the typical food for those days! In my part of Mexico, it´s a kind of a big tamal with crust wrapped in banana leaves and put into the oven. Takes a lot of work to make it, so you only have it once a year.... ask my mom about it.... hehe. We drink hot chocolate with it mixed with a corn made drink. (I don´t like it with the corn thing, but that is a matter of taste...)

For us, it is a religious celebration and a time to remember the loved ones who are gone already and pray for them. During this time, people go to cemeteries to "visit" their relatives.

When I dressed up for Halloween, I was a witch many times.... and I still am, but without the "w"...... ;) :lookaroun

I'm starting to lean toward Pippi...I really don't want to ride the bus downtown nor go to class in my pj's!! ;)

Hmmm... Last year I was Robin Hood.... And I have a great leopard costume from the year before that.... and I have a nearly-naughty Sailor Mars costume from the Japanese animation Sailor Moon series that's remarkably inappropriate for school... Plus I have a great 1920s dress that I had made for my "Gatsby" parties.... but I think I'm dressing in a business suit and just going as a zookeeper for the day....
