What would you do to make WDW back to where it once was?

What would you do to make WDW back to where it once was?
Is it lowering prices?
Making a 5th park?
Expansion to all 4 parks?
Or increase in General maintenance?

Two words: Castle Cake

I strongly support this along with the removal of all post-1995 rides and the restoration of all rides including those removed to their pre-1995 state.

Also the removal of all DVCs and newer hotels and replanting of forest land.

Now in reality, I think better maintenance and some additional refurbs would go along way. Oh and no more DVCs!!!!

Discounting would reportedly have to be stopped to have the in-berm spending of the bygone times, but since that would cause a short-term loss of profit, I don't see them fully commiting to that.

I would increase maintenance in all the parks, fix the broken effects throughout the attractions and areas, and refresh older shows, attractions, areas etc. so that we're not stuck in the 90's.

*Limiting Discounts
*Not making a 5th park
*Expansion to all 4 parks
*Increase General Maintenance and plussing of existing attractions
*Going back to better food choices, killing DDP and 180 day reservations for restaurants
*Having unique QUALITY merchandise at all locations, and save the princess/pirate/teen idol crap of the year at Downtown Disney or just a few shops in the parks.

I wouldn't take away anything except for price/discounts...frankly, as much as I love retro-WDW, if we went back to it we probably wouldn't be coming back, even Walt said that Disneyland would always be changing, and WDW should reflect that.

In the case of change, expansions for all parks, no 5th park just yet, and more sticking to the theme of the park instead of plugging cartoons/shows (particularly EPCOT).

Why should they kill DDP? :/

:/

Because DDP has dumbed down the menu and artificially raised the prices of all food across the board.

Before DDP you could actually get a seat at a restaurant the day of your visit.

Before DDP you had a wider variety of food that you could order.

Before DDP you weren't told what you should tip...people actually tipped for service.

I could keep going....

General maintenance. Less DVC and no more resorts. DDP goes away as with 180 dining, not sure how to fix that, as i book exactly 180 and get half of what i want. suggestions? Its time to bring back the quality, of both visitors and parks, resorts. Less does sometimes mean more, not the opposite, as we are seeing. Too much of a good thing can kill it. Upgrade current parks and see what happens. As a frequent visitor, i like the parks less empty, but if it means a more meaningful experience, im all for it.

-nice but, maybe keeping them level for a few years
-no no no no no
-maybe, but more impotantly, improvement. plus the parks!
-absolutely!!!!!

and i agree with stopping all the insane discounts. wdw is taking quantity over quantity just for the bodies in the park, not because of a great product. walt always said the good show would win out.....

Think for yourselfer
1. Trust in John Lasseter. He is exactly what the company needs right now. We have to have faith in him.

2. NO MORE DISCOUNTS. WDW has created a discount mentality. That needs to end. No more free dining. No more 40% off rooms. Just get the prices to a reasonable level and hold them there.

Everything else will fall into place.

I admit to utilizing the DDP, since I am so strapped for cash currently, but I think having to book 6 months in advance for a restaurant is ridiculous, unless it's the Cinderella Table. I wouldn't really mind killing the DDP, and I 100% agree with everything else That ChrisFL said.

Stop using WDW profits to venture into areas outside WDW. In fact WDW profits has been used for so many other new ventures outside WDW, its time to take profits from others areas and invest in WDW.

I agree trust in John Lasseter and Steve Jobs they are the visionaries of the company.

I think WDW is just fine the way it is, What I think has happened is that many of us have gone to WDW so many times that we start to notice all the small things that we do not like and forget how the first time we went to WDW we were amazed at all the things we saw. Take a first time visiter with you on your next trip and after words listen to what they say about the parks and it may surprise you on what you take for granted because you have seen it many times yet it totally amazes them

That is a very good point and I agree. But this also means things aren't growing as frequently as they once were. There was two new parks from 1989-1998. What has been done to that size since 2000? I'm not saying another park is needed but growing quality attractions is a must to keep repeat visitors.

I think it's easy to get so fixated on the past that the present can never measure up.

Of course there are things I wish were still a part of Walt Disney World, but I still treasure what is there now, and still get excited about the new things to come.

Ditto. The past is the past. There are plenty of great attractions now, and wonderful ideas.

Some better maintenance would improve things A TON. Nothing irks me more than simple things not being done.
