Now that "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" the TV show has declined in popularity, what is to become of the attraction? When I was there in February, it seemed pretty popular and I liked it a lot. I hope that it sticks around for a while even if the TV show does not. I heard a rumor that it would be replaced with a Roger Rabbit attraction Does anyone know if this is true?

I doubt it. It is really popular attraction. Plus Millionaire is going into half hour syndication with Meridith Veira from the View.

More of a sign that it going down the tube. Now they're picking useless, good for nothing, morning show hosts to star on it. Disney could do alot better than Millionaire.

whaaaa? I think the show is still pretty cool and the attraction is so great. I think the only one show that could be better is jeopardy. and unfortuantly, that will never happen, bc of the format that the show has.

The View really helped save ABC Daytime. I don't really think it is fair to call her useless and good for nothing. She is a journalist by trade.

But Disney has nothing to do with Jeopardy

Your views of daytime tv do not belong on the Disney World News and Rumors board...that aside, remember that this show is VASTLY popular and guests are turned away from pretty much every show. It's not headed anywhere...and this has already been discussed.

Come On Down!

As long as it draws a big audience, they should keep it running full speed. That way, the lines for the other attractions will be less encumbered by the intelligentsia that watch game shows on TV.

What they really need to do in MGM is change Star Tours, which I belive they're going to attempt soon. I think it'd be great if they made it into a POD RACE ride.

Actually... Disney somehow has all of Jeopardy respresented in Ellen's Energy Adventure (Trebeck and all) and the TV she first watches it on claims "You're watching ABC..."

disney has some kind of rights to it. jeopardy does run on ABC, so I am sure there is a contract there.

I was just stating that the best gameshow is jeopardy. but I am a really big nerd, thus I like the show. ;)

I do know this -- if you play WWTBAM: Play It at least 4 times (not necessarily in the same day), but over a period of time, they repeat alot of the questions.

During the fast fingers round, even if you don't get all of them right in the fastest time -- if you just enter answers real quick, you have a 50/50 chance of getting the fastest time. Does anyone in here play "Restore Order" on the NTN bar trivia network? :)

Jeopardy is a syndicated show, it runs on different networks in different markets. :)

I dont think it matters if the show is losing popularity... its the attraction, And so far its doing good.. If anything happens i think that if it will be going somewhere it will be a good long time. At least until the attraction loses its fame.

I think Millionaire (the show) would work better if it were changed to a half hour and taken out of primetime. Prime time asks for a lot out of a show. Game shows tend to stay around for a long time (like Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and my fav, Price is Right :))

In reply to the first post about it being replaced with a Roger Rabbit attraction, I think popularity would have nothing to do with it, especially if they are going to replace it with a character that isnt very popular in the first place :)

I think that a Rojer Rabbit attraction would be cool though. I liked that movie.

k, i don't know how this got injected into a thread all about Millionaire...but here's my 2 cents. on a personal note, i HATE episode 1 with a passion! i hope they never ever change the current ride to a pod race ride. but to be honest, i don't think Lucas would do another film for it...there's always a chance he might, but i just don't think he would. course, there's always the directors of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi (which i was shocked when i found out that neither was directed by Lucas) but still, Lucas would have to write out a story and such, and i'm just not sure if he would.

but back to Millionaire...i think they probably should leave it in for a while. like other's have said, despite the rapid decline in popularity of the show (mainly due to over exposure, thanks to ABC) the attraction still seems to maintain the crowds. but my wonder is, are they going to keep the 'Regis' hosts, or will they/have they already change(d) to the 'Meredith' host?

For as long as the TV show attracts an audience this will keep the advertisers paying for their products during the commercial breaks. Once the advertising revenue disappears so will the show. Once the show goes off TV then WDW will cut the attraction.

On the other hand, WDW will cut the attraction if the guests at MGM start to avoid it.
