What Will DCA Look Like in August 2009

...Just curious because that is when I will be headed there. My understanding is that the Fun Wheel will be done, the retheme of the Paradise Pier Games will be done. The Mickey head on the Cal Screamin will be gone and replaced with the "Paradise Pier" sign.

1. Will the Orange Stinger be down?
2. Will the Lagoon be filled?
3. Will Golden Dreams still be closed (rumored one year delay on Little Mermaid construction on the other site)
4. Will the current regular entrance to DCA still be functional?

Thank.

1. Possibly just the peel. The rest of the structure is staying to become the Silly Symphony Swings.
2. Possibly. I think its rumored to be refilled in September.
3. Yes. Delays haven't stopped them from keeping attractions closed.
4. Possibly. Construction scheduled to start early this year.

I think that given the rumored delays and the rate at which things are going on right now, there's no knowing when projects are gonna be started and finished.

Shameless plug time! : follow my blog: http://www.cbfupdate.blogspot.com for my updates on DCA's major facelift.

Thanks I will be following your blog. I'm kind of in the minority. I was generally fine with DCA's theming and just wanted a few more attractions.

1. I believe it will. Once Sun Wheel opens in April as Mickey's Fun Wheel, Orange Stinger goes down to become Silly Symphony Swings that opens in late '09.

2. Very likely. Cast Members were told the lagoon will be under refurbishment until December. They've just started ripping apart the banks to build the new viewing areas.

3. Yes, it will be closed. Where did you hear there was a delay for Little Mermaid? They've already walled off the San Fran buildings across the way to build the new bathrooms, and "another site" I read stated the theater itself would be walled off in April and demo would begin then.

4. I'm not sure on that last one. Al Lutz has an update coming on Tuesday, so hopefully he will address that as we haven't heard much lately. All the buzz has been about the walls going up lately inside the park, and the entrance makeover has been quiet for awhile.
