Hi guys, just looking for some extra help. What exactly would you recommend to take away and into the parks for a 4 year old and 21 month old. We are staying in old key west for 3 weeks in August and coming over from England and just wondering what to bring to really enhance the experience for my girls! Any help appreciated!!

That's an amazing length for a trip to WDW! Definitely no chance you'll be missing anything!
I'd definitely suggest getting groceries (whether you stop at Publix or Walmart or you have them sent to your hotel are completely up to you) to make sure you have snacks, drinks, and necessities you may want during your trip so that you don't have to spend too much money in the gift shops.
I'm planning a trip for my little one for this upcoming year as well and I'm making her a little gift basket that I'll hide in our room the first night. I'm going to put in a stuffed character (whoever is her favorite at the time), some coloring books, crayons, favorites snacks (the individual sized bags so she can bring them into the parks), some glow sticks, etc. I'm sure your girls would get a kick out of something like that!

Are you planning on visiting any parks aside from Disney while you're in Orlando? Universal, Islands of Adventure, Sea World, Lego Land? Islands of Adventure has a part that is based off of Dr. Seuss books that I'm sure they would love if they have read the books.

Enjoy your trip!

Invest in a cheap, lightweight buggy for the youngest before you leave home. It saves taking the large, expensive one which you use at home, it saves on renting one while in WDW, and, it doesn't matter (too much) if somebody takes it (in error)

We have traveled with our kids from ages 4 months to preteen. We also love staying at Old Key West!
- You will need a stroller. I know pp's said to get a cheap one, but we always take the sit n' stand. A 4-year old will get tired and it is nice to have a place for them to rest.

- Since you are going in August it will be hot! We got a portable, battery operated fan to clip onto our stroller for the youngest.

- We always do a "travel package" for the kids for the trip. It usually has a new pair of Disney or Marvel pajamas in it, coloring items, snacks, new Disney movies, and other fun items.

- I agree with the grocery part. We have stayed 17 days before and have gotten tired of "disney" food. Having a kitchen or kitchenette helped. We could easily do breakfast in the room. We usually have a 1-bedroom so we also do full meals. Pizza places (other than Disney) will also deliver and that can be an option as well.

- Sunglasses, sunscreen, hats, comfy shoes......you probably already know that though. :)

- Something kind of cool.......evening EMH at HS......the Disney Jr. show turns into a dance party where kids get to dance with many different characters. It is a great interaction for them!

A tip some one here gave in another thread was they take a waffle iron or buy a cheap one once there that has the waffle plates and the flat plates. You can do sandwiches. Get groceries in and have fruit and things like cheese snacks, breakfast bars, and juice boxes. We have done a lot of travel with our small children, and never under estimated the importance of the extra wipes! We are headed to Disney in January, but some good travel tips work anywhere! Pack sun screen from home or you will pay a fortune. When we took them somewhere we do a lot of walking I always vetoed the flip flop sandles and had the go for sturdy sandles with more padding and tennis shoes. Comfortable socks. 100 percent cotton. Helps with little feet...a tip their pediatrician gave us for trips. He also suggested a mini first aid kit with Band-Aids and ointment as well as children's pain reliever. Great to have on hand! If you have little ones still not potty trained don't forget the swimming diapers. Have a super trip!
