a reliable alarm clock & a coffeemaker, because you'll be getting up EARLY!

and leave room in your car for all the merch you'll buy with your discount. i had to ship things back!

but seriously? less clothes than you think you'll need, warmer clothes than you think you'll need, and a foam mattress topper. the mattresses are hard as a rock.

also...a brita pitcher, a water bottle to take to work with you (and a lunch box will save you some serious money when you're working for pennies & magic), and a good-sized backpack or messenger bag to take clothes to & from work.

Amen to that statement. I brought WAYYYYYYY too much and ended up shipping a lot of it back home (and I drove myself down!!)

Yeah, I brought way too many clothes as well. Consider that most of your time will be spent in your costume and you really won't need as many clothes as you probably do at home. But be sure to have something nice, and if you plan on doing the formal, bring a nice dress or nice clothes (for guys).

And I second the mattress topper. Get the best one you can find and you will thank yourself for it.

Also a bath mat, I recall that was one of the things I had to buy when I got down there.

And a CAR. If you have a car that you can bring, DO IT. No matter if you have to drive 5000 miles (I did see a few Alaska and Canada plates when I was there), bring it. You will be miserable on the bus, believe me. Plus, having a car means you'll get lots of friends wanting to bum a ride from you. :p

I drove 1500+ miles from South Dakota and I can 2nd this. The few times I had to ride the CP busses I feared for my life.

like everyone said, it's a great thing to have...i didn't have it my first month, but had it from feb-may and it was such a life saver....especially those days u wake up right before your shift starts and u have to fly like the wind to get there (just be careful about speeding....i worked at MK and there were always random cops hiding to pull you. i was unlucky one morning haha:brick:)
