Disney bought the muppets a couple years ago and hasn't done a thing with them except make the horrible muppet wizard of oz and put kermit on the disney channel to do that little intro thing before comming out of a commercial break. They can atleast show repeats of the muppet show and the muppet tonight show along whit the muppet movies on abc family.I don't understand why they don't i mean abc family is all repeats of shows from other networks most which are know cancelled. So my question is does any body know what the deal with the muppets is and what disney is going to do whit them? And also why did they not buy the rights to fraggle rock?

Well, I liked the Muppet Wizard of Oz.

As for what Disney is doing with the Muppets, I know they did come out with special 50th Anniversary Kermit Pins, and a Welcome to the Disney Family Muppet Pins, so I think they are trying to do something. They also had the Muppets in the Walt Disney Christmas Parade and the ABC specials with Nick Lachey and Jessica Simspon.

There were rumors that there may be the resurfacing of the whole Muppet ride idea, and I heard that maybe there might be a new show on ABC featuring the Muppets.

I think that now Disney has the full control rights, they won't have to worry about losing the right to show Muppet*Vision 3D in the theme parks, nor do they have to worry about some other company changing the publics image of the Muppets (for whatever reason) and leave a bad taste in people's mouths.

I'm sure they'll do something with the Muppets in the coming years. (The same could probably said for the newly reacquired Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.)

It is a shame they have not been able to do more with the muppets. They are my favorite, and I was happy to see Disney buy them as I hoped they would use them more. The great thing about the muppets is you can do so much with them. It just seems Disney doesnt know what to do with them.
