What special offers to expect?

I didn't see a thread to post my question so I'm making a new one I am a long time WDW fanatic, and took 2 trips there in 2009. For 2010, we are entertaining the idea of a DL vacation. I have never been, my best friend (and fellow Disney freak/travel companion) has never been, and neither has my son. It is a little unnerving and kind of a step out of my little box as it is, so I would definately like to stay at one of the Disneyland properties (specifically, the Disneyland Hotel). My question is, at what time can I expect any special offers through Disney Travel to come out for the Disneyland resort? I'm used to WDW special offers (which there seem to usually be more, and come in waves, like free dining in the fall & buy x get x free in the spring/summer). Is there something I can kind of expect for Sept. out of the Disneyland resort? We will be travelling the first part or Sept. (which is also a DLR "super value" season). Right now they have buy 3 get 2 free and 30% off resort hotels. Any help or suggestions for people who have taken advantage of DLR special offers would be great! It would really help us decide whether or not to do it, or stick with good 'ol Orlando. Thanks! :wave:

It's actually just as easy to stay at an off-property hotel as it is to stay on-property so you don't need to feel like you don't have any options. For example, the Best Western Anaheim Inn is just as close to the parks as the Grand California...and it's even closer to the parks than the other 2 Disney hotels. You can save HUNDREDS that way. It's extremely expensive to stay on property.
