What should I study according to what I like

So here’s the deal:

I’m a teenager from a country that is not US. I live in Costa Rica. I have been in love with Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Parks (as much as you all do!) since 2006. I will be turning 17 tomorrow and as soon as I finish high school, I want to head to the US to study and hopefully get hired by Disney. I have had this dream since I was 12 years old. Unfortunately I yet don’t know what specifically to study to apply for a job with the Walt Disney Company. I was wondering if any of you could recommend me a career that can help me get nearer what Disney is currently looking for.

What I like: I’m really into Arts, I love creating new things, writing and developing interesting and charismatic stories. Since 2009 I started learning from internet a lot of stuff about video editing and website creation. Nowadays a own semi-pro computer and Sony camera and I do works for some people that I know of. I also like lighting design (I have some Chauvet intelligent lights in my room), graphic design and stage management.

Thankfully I recently returned from Disneyland California the past January and I got to speak to some Cast Members in charge of the stage management, pyrotechnics and lighting at Fantasmic! They were very nice to me and I am in touch with them right now. Since I yet don’t want to bother them with my story I wanted to know if any of you could give me advice on which career (according to my likes) should I study. And if anyone here knows an organization that gives scholarships to international students please please tell me. Thanks in advance and thanks for your time!,

Hey JP, you have the same aspirations as a lot of other young members of our forum. Disney doesn't look for any one particular field to pick their cast members, they pick them from every imaginable line of work. Pick what you are passionate about, learn all about it then apply for a job at Disney.

The theater arts field is usually in demand at Disney as are people with technical savvy. Although those jobs usually aren't "Onstage" jobs.

However, if you are looking for an Imagineering job... good luck. Become the best in your field, then Disney will find you. Imagineering is usually a "Don't call us, we'll call you" job.

I have no specific knowledge of that field, but I can only imagine that loading up on as many technology-related courses as possible would only help to distinguish you from the back. It would also help you out with other companies of things with Disney didn't work out.
