in my honest opinion pause the rides at 9:03 AM for like a brief moment since that was when the US found out it was a terrorist attack. Like explain it to everyone by leavin a message o ntheir resort phone and like when people come to the toll..

what do you think??

From the current Times Guide:

Special Remembrance
On Wednesday at 12 noon, a moment of silence will be observed in outdoor areas in remembrance of the events of September 11, 2001.

Don't get me wrong or brand me unpatriotic, but why does anything have to be "done"? General consensus of people going to or would like to go to the parks is that they want to get away from it all. If someone is into the memorials and such, then why go to the parks? I don't think the Disney parks are the place for this. The people are going for an escape from it all, IMO. If you want moments of silence and tribute, watch CNN.

Yeah, explain it to them AGAIN, because they might have been living under a rock, and not known what happened a year ago.

HELLO, the Media is milking this for all it's worth.

I think a moment of silence is more than enough. Even the First Lady is telling everyone to limit the exposure of children to the events of 9/11. Or they will think it's happening again.

Remember the fallen, and move forward.

But then how do you explain the Hall of Presidents or the American Adventure? the fact of the matter is that most of America will be having a moment of silence, and will do soemthing or other to commemorate the day. It has nothing to do with Disney, they just wish for the guests to take a moment to pause and remember. They are only asking for like a minute of the guests' time to pause, and those that wish to watch the things like Voices of Liberty or the lowering of the flag can do so. I would not be surprised if the guests going there that day expected them to do this, and wished to be a part of it.

Yes, Disney is a place to get away from it all, but for this one day, I'd think everyone would be expecting a different mood.

not to also be branded unpartiotic , but i think that a moment of silence is the right thing to do tomorrow. after that we all need to go on with our lives anything else will have made it possible for the terrorists to have won. they wanted to change our way of life and as much as possible we have to go on.

Yeah and don't forget to burn your copy of Pearl Harbor lest it make you remember....

What a bunch of rubbish!
Now I know there is a class of people that are categorized as "Escape from Reality" types.
I think WDW should have special events like a solemn parade honoring those that were trying to save the victims at the WTC, flag raising and loweruing ceremonies and yes a complete stop of all rides at a specific time to "remember" those that died.
Also if it isn't already happening :D a flyover of military aircraft to show they are there to prevent an airborne attack upon WDW.

The Disney Stores gave "Let Freedom Ring" pins away free to all who entered their stores today (9/10) in the USA. I think they will do the same on 9/11.

You can't stop all rides, just like you can't stop all commuter traffic in New York because of a moment of silence.

The planned ceremonies are good and all exterior attractions being "silent" is a nice gesture, and resonable (read: do-able).

I don't think anyone will be going to WDW for the sole purpose of seeing a 9/11 memorial. So, we'll do what we can, wear our little "Let Freedom Ring" pins, and go on with life as usual in the happiest place on earth.

Oh, the quote that was on the card that came with our memorial pins:

"Tomorrow will be better for as long as America keeps alive the ideals of freedom and a better life." -- Walt Disney

Believe it or not, the Media, and the Entertainment companies are the cause of many of the problems associated with 9/11 and our country in general. Our students today (I am a 7th and 8th grade teacher) are so desensitized to violence in general because it is all over the TV. What happened to the great family shows of the 1980's and early 1990's (Cosby, Who's the Boss?, Family Ties, Fresh Prince)? Everything now is about ______, violence, or disfunctional families. Another problem today is that the youth of America live in a dream world and are often not in touch with the reality of today, or the history of our great land. It is time for the parents to turn off the TV, and for the entertainment giants (even Disney with some of their crap on the Disney Channel and ABC) to help steer us in a positive direction. Kids to believe what they see on TV and they do think it is reality!

As a Law Enforcement Officer Working here in Florida, I think 1 minute of silent reflection is not to much to ask. Just remember alot of inocent Americans lost their lives including several hundred heros who risked their lives and died trying to save them. Don't worry if the media is trying to hype this up, also remember the thousands of men and women in uniform who put their lives on the line every day so you can have the freedom to go to place like Walt Disney World. It is the least we can do in return.

i put my life on the line every day to defend this country and the people in it. drowning yourself in rememberance is to me excaping from reality. reality is what happens every day in this country, those terrorists want to destroy us and our way of life. when we spend the whole day going on about what happened then they have accomplished their goal. we must pay tribute to those who died by not only remembering their sacrifice but to not let those who attacked us win. that is why life must go on.
