What role do sponsers take in rides?

I know most Disney Attractions are sponsered by some big corporation, (i.e., Space mountain - FEDEX, The Land - Nestle, Mission:Space - Compaq).

I have seen this ever since I was small, Horizons was GE, and Star Tours was M & M's.

But what role to sponsers take in these rides? Do they pay for the rides contruction? Part of it? Or do they do something else to get their name everywhere on these rides.

I have noticed a lot of sponsers change also, the land from kraft to nestle, space mountain to fedex, from (I am not sure who sponsered this before). Do most companies realize that its to expensive to have their name on these disney attractions.

Hope someone knows the answer, I have always wondered this.

THANKS! :)

I believe they give money to go towards the attraction...whether it be construction, maitenance or rehab. Some companies give more money some less....depends on how popular the ride is and how much exposure their company gets through sponsoring the ride.

.....I think :D
