Got a really stiff back in the past few weeks, which is only worstended by sudden jerking ... im just wondering which rides will i have to avoid ?

I already know i won't be doing Test track, with the stop start, and jerking. I'll be avoiding the Simpsons too as it can be quite rough at times too.

Any others? I don't do rollercoasters as it is. What about the Harry Potter ride ?

I can only speak for WDW, so here it goes.

MK: All coasters (obviously), TTA (jerks quite a bit, IMO), Winnie the Pooh (Tigger's bouncing area), Buzz Lightyear (although you have the ability to make it not jerk), boat rides (if you get stuck at the end, other boats hit you from behind)

Epcot: TT, Mission Space, Maelstrom can be kind of bumpy

DHS: RnR, ToT, Star Tours, TSM (all jerk you around)

AK: EE, Dinosaur, KS (bumpy)

I don't know how bad your back is, but those are the ones that I consider "bumpy/jerky." It seems like all of the rides have some form of bumpiness.

(I can't remember the link but I feel like there's a site somewhere dedicated to this topic)

dinosaur jostles you around a fair bit. oddly enough my mother who's had numerous herniated discs, disc removals and most recently a double fusion in her spinal column went on tower of terror and didn't have any issues.

coasters aside there weren't really too many rough rough rides. I know the very very end of the Norway ride was bad but wasnt awful, it was just really bumpy getting the vehicle on the unload platform

I can't help you for universal in terms of attractions including Potter, but I tell about WDW attractions. Coaster are already mentioned Mission: Space.

Avoid Dinosaur! at AK. I think you might want to avoid Star Tours: The adventure continues at DHS also.

I really don't think TSMM, or Buzz Lightyear should be a problem. I am saying that because I know person outside the internet that has a history of back problems, but TSMM, Buzz Lightyear, and KS hasn't bothered that persons back.

If my own personal experience is any help when my back was acting up during a visit I would say steer clear of Space Mountain. I tried to "suck it up" and sitting in the rear seat really tweaked my back pretty bad. I don't want to speculate on any other rides but that I one I know you'd be best to skip.

I also have a bad Back (Scoliosis surgery when i was 13)So I have a tip for you.
On the boat rides like Pirates,Small World,Three Caballaros Etc when you least expect it the boat behind will bump you.So at the end of the ride just lean forward and you should be O K .

The Harry Potter ride does jostle but you are firmly braced with a padded shoulder harness. I'm not sure what to recommend for you but keep in mind that it does dip down and pull back up so you will be moving slightly forward then pushed back into the seat.

Been in your shoes. Avoid SM and Dinosaur at all cost !! I did not and regretted it terribly. Unfortunatly the Safari is kind of jarring as well. Good luck.

Not really sure, because everyones issues are different. However my Mom has a severe case of Crohn's Disease (surgery three yrs ago.. wont go into details for your sake) and she only had issue with Splash Mountain- mainly the big drop, and the logs smacking into each other at unload. We did NOT do Space Mountain or anything spinny...

If you're unsure of a ride, sit back and watch the exit for a few minutes. If people look uncomfortable (esp. older folks) then it may be a good sign to lay off that ride...

I blew out my back days before our trip a few weeks ago and made the mistake of going on Space Mountain. That really had me in serious pain. I went on pretty much everything else without issue.

I have noticed that the further back you are in the cars on SM the worse it is as far as getting bounced and jerked around but it is also the best seat for the ride experience IMO. I guess it depends on what part of a person's back is out too. My particular problem area is lower back and partially herniated disks so the compression of getting slammed back down in the seat after lifting out of it was what did it for me. Luckily I am OK unless the issue is already aggravated. Good shoes with orthotic inserts make all the difference in the world for my particular issue while at the world. The further up a person's back the issue is I would guess it would make things more difficult with the rides especially if it was up between the shoulders or into the neck area. Hopefully OP has a blast and takes advantage of the hot tubs back at the resort gratuitously.

I was in the last seat
